Cleveland looks sharp so far!

Hopefully Josh gets blasted in the media this week while Baker and others get praise. I think Josh plays better this way!

Watching Cleveland roll KC in a way we could only dream of. It’s early, but it’s been fun to watch. Too much finesse on the Bills today…

Agree on the offensive strategy.  They seemed to know what we were calling.  They seemed to have 3 DBs near every pass.  Poor blocking, lack of execution all around.

I think everyone knows what we’re doing now. It doesn’t even look like they practice the run game. It’s too easy for a defense drop everyone and get after Allen

Josh and the deep ball had been a consistent struggle for him. He still can’t throw an accurate deep ball. It’s a concern at this point.

deep ball is such a small part of the game if you want to be concerned about something the intermediate accuracy was bad today.

Allen sucked. He was elite last season. There is the difference between today’s game and last season. The team goes as Allen goes.

Shocker…. They did nothing to upgrade either.

He sucked. Plain and simple. He had an excellent 2nd half last season against the Steelers…. He was worse in the 2nd half this game. He had a bad game.

Yea… but he loves ***** around at practice.

Why the ***** is he still here?

Dude is average at best…they should’ve use his cap and got someone better…. Just a lot of questionable off-season moves that reared their ugly head in today’s game.

What did you expect? They did nothing to upgrade these areas.

Looks like you were right.  You are the smartest guy in the room.

Beane and McDermott are below average at best.

Yup. Did you also see Spain playing guard for them.  What happened to that guy in Buffalo? He would start over any of our current guards.

Mutual parting of ways at the beginning of last season. Didn't we release him like three games into the season, if I remember correctly.

I agree, I think everything kinda stemmed from the O line getting absolutely owned by the steelers 4. The pressure stressed Allen, making play calls difficult. Not sure why everyone is saying Allen played like trash, he had an off day but there isn't a qb in the nfl that succeeds from that kind of front 4 pressure. (See mahomes superbowl). We made a few huge mistakes against an elite D. You don't win games that way.

I don't get the Allen hate either.  Not a great game, but he didn't lose it for us.  We outgained the Steelers by 120 yards.  We lost because of o-line and secondary penalties, our inability to convert on the Steelers side of the field, and because all of the "big plays" seemed to go in favor of the Steelers.  This game doesn't worry me too much on its own.  Also, Tre White's holding call that negated his INT was a very suspect call.  If that play stands, there's a good chance that we win this game going away and it's a weeklong party here on TSW.

This is what happens to over confident teams. Offense thought they would be able to come out and do what they wanted but couldn’t execute. The defense started off good but a lack of pressure in the second half cost them. It’s on to week 2 but the team deserves every bit of criticism they get.

Disagree about DL and punter. The DL played very well the first half until the Steelers figured out they could just hold them every play without getting called for it. Haack had a few very nice punts and didn't shank any like their punter did (or like Bojo used to). On the blocked punt one of the Steelers came right up the middle basically unblocked.

Our punter is slow as molasses didn’t you see that in preseason. He stands there and stands there!

Pittsburg adjusted in the second half, we didn’t..,

I definitely saw some growth. There were some nice clean pockets for Josh to step up into, but Steelers secondary played really well today.

The bad plays are the Josh designed runs. That isn’t necessary anymore unless it’s 2nd and 3. Playcalling was too cute like others said.

Criticism does not equate into hate.

Allen didn't play well. He missed a wide open TD by 5 yards with no pressure. That just can't keep happening.

He also has his head down like he has all day to punt. After I saw his first punt I knew the Steelers would get to him today.

That punt didn't get blocked because the punter is slow. It got blocked because someone missed their blocking assignment and the defender came right up the middle. No other punter would have had a different outcome.

1. Sanders should have caught that seem pass that resulted in a pint the next down.

I thought there were a lot of passes like that by a number of receivers.  Beasley seemed to have a few.  Yes, they were contested and knocked out (and not drops) but could have been held onto.  They need to take lessons from the guy who COULD hang onto contested catches today:  Knox.  Josh also seemed off.  Not terrible...but not his best.

I wholeheartedly agree, but Allen was making some incredibly bad choices often throwing into 2 and 3 man coverage. He’s got to do better, got to make better choices.

Um, the Steelers scored 20?

umm not on Defense. Take 7 away. So even more on point. Defense holds a team to 16  And you have a 250M QB. You SHOULD win.

also they scored 23

But where's the silver lining?  All this negativity for one loss?  Geez.

I'm totally joking.  But seriously, I think this will light a real fire under their rears.  They seemed to respond well to losses last years.   Still 16 games to go. So.......

This is a big loss. This game might be a tie breaker to get in or home field.

A couple of those were missed penalties by the refs...he thought he had an offside and a 12 men on the field so he thought he had a free play and the refs missed it two separate times

What makes big Ben not good enough? His most recent season was statistically as good as any other lol he had one horrendous half of football in the AFC divisional round

You’re not wrong, his numbers were solid. I just didn’t see anything special from Big Ben compared to all the other great QB’s in the game today. The Steelers aren’t an offense that scares anyone, and he threw for under 200 yards today. We win today if we didn’t get dominated by the Steelers defense. Other teams aren’t getting that dominated by the Steelers, I guarantee. I’m excited to see what this Steelers team is all about. It’s a long season, we could take the Lombardi home for all I know. I just think we played very poorly today, and I’m not ready to credit that all to the Steelers.

I don’t understand what you mean by “sloppy hold”

Ok, we’ll, I’m not gonna do this for everybody who’s eyes aren’t watching, but after he handled the poor snap, reset himself with no urgency encouraged by forcing his rhythm to adjust, he then appropriately ate the football.

Its one of of those ‘Football 101’ things..

I have thought Dawkins is good and a good enough replacement for Cordy Glenn’s best few years here. I like Dawkins but he’s not in the top the conversation with guys at the top of the depth chart across the league.

What exactly did you want them to do? The cap unexpectedly shrunk a LOT. Please point to the other teams that 'handled' better?

Exactly.  I personally wanted the Bills to draft a C/G in the 2nd but they ID’d their big need as upgrading the DL/pass rush.  So that’s where the draft choices went.

They gambled that the OL that allowed Allen to be at the top of the league in passing was “enough” and they may have lost - we’ll see against other teams.

Heyward gave us fits last year also
