Lots of money for someone who should be in jail.

Oh please.  90% of the league would be in jail if it were judged by actions on the field.

He lost over a million dollars because of the incident.  That's a hell of a fine for assault.  Funny how Rudolph wasn't fined a penny  .....hum....  Rudloph is trying to pass on 3 and 30 with seconds left in the game.  Gets taken down and then tries to rip off Garretts helmet.  Then, after Garrett rips his off the idiot charges after him helmet less when Garrett is clearly backing away from the situation.

Cool, so the guy should be jailed, tared, feathered, executed, banned from the league.  Got it.  He was suspended, lost his salary.  That's good enough.  And Rudolph definitely deserved something for his role.

Good move by the Browns as he's a top five DE in this league and only 24.  Having said that, the Browns drafted him over Mahomes.

So did the Bears right after the Browns.

Bears fans are foaming at the mouth over that one.

well truthfully, so are we considering we traded from 10th to 27th from Mahomes to White.  Phenomenal CB pick, by 99.999999999% of Bills fans wish they had Mahomes vs. Allen.  That doesn’t mean I’m not an Allen believer as I am, but it’s kind of hard to argue Mahomes would have been a better choice.  It doesn’t matter as it is a long time ago.  Not worried.

Browns have an excellent DE. Garrett is fantastic, just surprised they pulled the trigger on a year like this one.

The tradeoff is the Bills are happy with the progression of their QB (even though the fans are totally impatient with him) and the Bears have a mess on their hands with their QB situation.

Can Trubisky be salvaged? Who knows.

25M AAV with 100 guaranteed

Mack got 23.5 AAV and 90M guaranteed.  (also a 3-time first-team all-pro - Garrett probably would've been one last year if he didn't get suspended).

Clarks AAV is about 21 with 62 guaranteed.

Armstead got 17 AAV and 40 guaranteed.

Hunter 14.4 AAV and 40 guaranteed.

Z smith 16.5 AAV and 20 guaranteed.

TJ watt is licking his chops for his payday.  Joey Bosa is also probably looking at a similar level of pay request.

I'm not exactly certain what you were watching, or what you may have been on while watching it.

He does the same crap most young QBs do.  Holds the ball, panics under pressure, and tends to have sloppy footwork.  His sloppy footwork tends to lead to balls sailing.

He has as good a chance as anyone else at improving - but all they added to offense was Graham and Harris.  And the only talent they drafted on O was kmet.  So maybe this is the year anthony miller steps up, but who knows.  He'll probably lose the job to foles, and fizzle out and end up somewhere else as a backup.

Deals are going to come the next 24 hours with the deadline tomorrow.  Surprising these multi year deals with a cap probably going down, and more expected for one year deals.  Wait for it in the next 24 hours.

Why did this impact this deal?

He certainly is one of the top few DEs in the league.  NFL teams still seem to be of the opinion that the cap will take a huge jump after the pandemic is over and the new TV deals are signed.  The Browns extended Garrett 5 years past his current contract (through 2026) so while those extension numbers are large, the contract will be relatively team friendly.  He gets cash early and they get a better deal than they would have if they’d waited.  It’s a win-win.

Difficult to see the need to make this big of a move this early, and for a defensive player on a middling team.  What's the big downside by waiting another year (or even two)?  Especially for someone like him - where one more on field incident will equal a ban of a year or maybe even more.

Seems like a very Browns-like thing to do.  Why not throw another couple years on OBJ's contract while you're at it?  He's another stable fellow...

Getting paid before the cap goes down is not a horrible move. As a team, holding off a bit might make some sense. I’d want the sure money and a lifetime of financial security works for me. The difference between $100 mil and $130 mil won’t change my life much. I’m rich for generations regardless.

That’s one reason I like Mahomes and his deal more that ever.

If Rudolph conked a helmetless Garrett, he'd be out of this league and every black player in the league would've stomped his butthole through his mouth blee dat:unsure:

I'm genuinely amazed that anyone watches what happened on that play and somehow still manages to blame it on Rudolph and defend Garrett.

Rudolph deserved nothing more than an in-game penalty. Rudolph was fined, but I don't think he deserved a fine, personally.

Garret got what he deserved. I don't think he should be in jail like some are saying.

With all the uncertainty why aren’t teams signing players on % of cap with guaranteed $?

Maybe the players want more certainty and wouldn't agree to that.

I don't feel sorry for them. We traded the pick away.

As far as Garrett goes, I always call BS and smh when the NFL runs commercials about how much they care about player safety.  If they really did, a dude that ripped off another dude's helmet and proceeds to beat him over the head with it, provoked or not, would be banished IMHO.

like Josh, if Mitchell's receivers could catch the football ?, would look a lot better.

Guaranteed money is guaranteed.  Cap% is not guaranteed, and no one wants a contract where the bonus ranges from x-y.  They want the bonus to be a specific dollar, same with salaries.
