They were talking about one of the reason they didn’t fight more for Brady is because they wanted a qb who could do more. If he's healthy and if he can stay healthy. And if they are looking for him to be a running threat, he won't stay healthy long.
Doc Brown
Not surprising as here's what Belichick said about him in 2017... A healthy Cam Newton is a problem. “I think when you’re talking about mobile quarterbacks — guys that are tough to handle, can throw, run, make good decisions … — I would put him at the top of the list,” Belichick said Wednesday. “Not saying there aren’t a lot of other good players that do that, but I would say of all the guys we played recently in the last couple of years, I think he’s the hardest guy to (defend). He makes good decisions, can run. He’s strong. He’s hard to tackle. He can do a lot of different things. He can beat you in a lot of different ways. We saw that in the game in 2013. I would put him at the top of the list. I’m not saying the other guys aren’t a problem, because they are. But he’s maybe public enemy No. 1.”

Its friggen hilarious The bills need to worry about THEIR games......and if they are winning against AFC East teams and split with the pats....yes they will win the division YOU STILL have not explained what great offense is there in New England that is going to accomplish this Edited June 29, 2020 by John from Riverside

atlbillsfan1975
In the words of Aaron Rodgers R-E-L-A-X. This is probably a good thing long term. I really don’t know what to expect but Cam should be better than Stidham, and thus the Pats won’t be in position for Trevor Lawerence Or one of the other top QB’s in The 2021 draft. HappyDays
He is obviously better than Stidham but it doesn't worry me that much. Even with Stidham I thought the Bills would go 1-1 against them this year and that hasn't changed.

Albanybillsbacker
EJ Manuel beat a Cam newton led panthers team. The guy is a career .500 QB with one outlier year where he was actually good (2015). No excuses

All in all they are still a worse team than last year.

Yeah even with Newton and assuming he is healthy the whole sesson, the Patriots are still a defensive team first. And they lost 3 starters on defense in free agency. Newton in the shape he's in is at best a lateral move from Brady. To beat them we need to score points. If Allen can do that, Newton isn't going to put the team on his back.

We definitely have the better talent around Allen. i just think healthy Cam is such an upgrade over what they had. The division became tougher. YoloinOhio
Interesting that we have Eric Washington (Bills new DL coach, former DL coach and DC for Panthers), Vernon Butler, Mario Addison, Star Lotulelei, AJ Klein and Josh Norman on the other side.
f0neguy
I believe it was Ric Flair who said “If you want to be the man, you’ve got to beat the man!” Stidham, Newton, doesn’t matter. If the Bills play their game they’ll be okay.

IDBillzFan
I'm curious...can the "Oh, no, it was fun while it lasted but now the Bills will suck again" people tell me why, if this is an immediate slam-dunk crusher of a move by the Pats* that ends the Bills 2020 season, why it took them this long to make a deal with Cam? And why only a one-year deal with no incentives? I'll wait.

Logic
I called this the day Newton was released by Carolina. I'm sure a lot of other people did, too, so I realize I'm not exactly Nostradamus here. Still, I never believed for one second that they were gonna go into the 2020 season depending on just Stidham and Hoyer. I predict they win 10 games (assuming there's a season).
