Host Greg Cosell states that in order for Bills to win it needs to be a low scoring defensive game and Josh cant be throwing balls up for grabs.

Nice thanks for posting this.  I agree that Allen can't be throwing balls up for grabs...but I think there is an outside chance the Bills COULD win a game in the mid to high 20s (idk, maybe in today's NFL that IS low scoring).  But when I hear low scoring defensive game I think 17 to 13.

I like Greg Cosell a lot when he is on One Bills Live.  Man, if the Bills get this 16-14 that would be epic.  I'd buy that for a dollar.

I needed an NFL guru to tell me this?

Thanks Captain Obvious!

Can't hurt to see what worked for Wade and his Rams crew in the superbowl.   Pats offense was 3 and out all game until the end.

Yeah, the Bills defense has played the Pats quite well recently. Much of the Pats scoring has come from the incompetence of the Bills offense in recent meetings. I’m more concerned with the Pats D than their offense. BB is really good at making young QB’s look terrible, and this offense still needs a real identity. That’s what frightens me the most.

The silver lining to may be that BB doesn’t have anything definitive to eliminate aside from containing Allen.

Agree- it will be too hard for Bellichick to pick the one Bills offensive strength to eliminate since they are not nearly as limited as in years past. Beasly, Knox, Singletary, Brown, Jones and Allen all can step up if they try to take away any one piece. However, if the bills can neutralize Edelman, they have got rid of their main weapon. But, that is no easy task.

...McD, Daboll and Frazier MUST be prepared to "out master The Master" with adjustments....."one size fits all offense and defense" vs Belichick does not work......

I mean.... pats had 9 points in 3.5 quarters against us on MNF last year... so ya I agree they know how to play them.

all about Allen and the offense. I think the boys on D will keep it manageable

I was thinking 6-0 with three sacks in endzone for safeties with final sack a very loud crack of an old leg bone.

If I know him BB is going to try and make sure John Brown doesn't beat him, maybe have Gilmour locked on him and a Safety underneath. Of course Daboll could spread their D going 4 or 5 wide which means Beasley and someone else like Jones/Foster will have to show up.

I was thinking of a Joe Theismann end to his part of his career with him joining NFL Zebras next year.

I certainly agree with that.

Allen will need to have his best game so far if we are to win, and I don't think there's any way we win a shootout.

I do expect it to be low scoring and tight though.

The D was gashed for 273 rushing yards the last game. It appeared as they over-prepared for Brady. The D will have to play both phases well.

It seems to me the three things the D must do are, in no particular order:

1- Completely take away the running game while

2 - Putting consistent pressure on the O line and forcing Brady to throw even quicker than usual, and

3 - Keeping receptions underneath so there are no long breakaways for TDs. If the Pats are forced to do their scoring from inside the redzone, I'll put my trust in the Bills D.

And of course, do not so much as breathe on Tawmie, who will draw those penalties from his other teammates, the refs.

I think they’ll match Gilmore on Brown straight up and bracket Beasley. Who knows though. He might come out and run zone blitzes and cover 3. No way of knowing until the game starts, but zone would keep the secondary with eyes on Allen.

I don’t want Allen throwing footballs up for grabs either nor do I want him to run backwards like he did last week when pressured.  BUT, I do not want him to be scared to make a play.  If the coaches, fans, media constantly beat on the guy over every mistake, he will lose what makes him great.

And it wouldn't surprise me to see BB put a spy on Josh. We will need hot reads over the middle.  I see Beasley having a big game.

Yea but that cincy int was an absolute duplicate of the pic he threw in the preseason. Rolling to his right and retreating, off balance across the field. And the intentional grounding was the same.

This is America, if Josh Allen wants to throw the ball up for grabs then he should do so.

Beasley, Knox or Singletary. It’s going to depend on which receiver BB wants to take away and/double. Best hope is that Brown can get behind SG early for a big gain. If SG can blanket Brown solo I can see them running bracket coverage on Beasley all game.

I like how we are "featured" on nfl matchup. You can catch it on ESPN 8, the Ocho,  at 425am - 430am if you're interested. Not a rip on the OP, just another ESPN thing putting there actual good programs on at times and channels that no one is watching.

The Pats only weakness in this game is the OL.  They have a bunch of journeymen type of players that have not had any time to gel together.  Our best shot at winning is bringing the pressur on Brady and get off the field on 3rd down.

That's why I say the sooner Bills fans launch those "special toys" out onto the field, the better.

Our best shot is scoring points on offense. The d should do their job just fine.

We are the live 1pm ET game on SKY Sports here in the UK this week. Our record in games where they feature us is not good.... but then it is normally only against the Pats. I think I saw us lose to the Giants on there under Rex too but normally if we are live we are playing the Patriots.

Not the same old Bills even if we lose. This team is headed in the right direction and only a matter of time before we take over.

I actually think the Bills could win this game as a high 20s type game also.  I think playing not to lose by playing this 16-13 type game is actually a bad strategy because ti allows the Pats to always win with 1 drive. Putting points on the board at home with our Dee puts way more pressure on them.
