Yup, it was a military base for years when i was a kid(Think there is still a small unit stationed there). They've had a commercial airline flying out of there for awhile now though. I think they still do the Airplane shows there every year too!

The Air Force Reserve base is next door to, but not the same thing as, the Niagara Falls airport.

Used to go to air shows every year growing up at that air base.

Back then everyone just drove onto the base with zero security, parked on the grass, unloaded coolers with food and beverages, chairs, etc., and had a great time.

Then 9/11 happened, the terrorists won, and America changed.

Going to air shows now is a real PITA.

Sorry to go off topic, though the OP's question has already been competently answered.

Stay till the final whistle, go back out to the lots for more beer and BBQ, roll into the airport Monday morning and declare "I missed my flight".

I am sure the TSB agent would be just as glad then as Sunday night to declare to the traveler “You ugly!”

I shoot down Abbott towards South Buffalo and make a right onto Berg Rd and make my way to the highway in West Seneca past ridge rd on Seneca St.  You avoid most of the traffic and getting jammed at the Lackawanna tolls this way.  There is another road that is actually faster than Berg but I can't remember the name right now.  You take it and you will pass the Lackawanna tolls on your left, come around a bend, then make a left at the first stop sign.  That will take you towards Seneca St with Home Depot running along your right and Delta Sonic on your left.  You will come to a light with highway at ridge to your left, but I usually avoid ridge and make a right heading towards West Seneca.  You can hit the highway off of Seneca/Center Rd.  I live in the Northtowns and this is how I get home.

A few years ago somebody had a way out cutting through parking lots at shopping centers (I think Galleria). It was hilarious but I can't find it.

well, you can cut through the plaza behind Wegmans on McKinkley..sometimes use that going to stadium, but never leaving, on the wrong side of the road!

Park away from the stadium...if you park in one of those stadium lots you are going to be stuck there for hours...usually we just tailgated afterwards because its better to hang out and have fun with friends instead of sitting and being irritated in bumper to bumper traffic for 2 hours trying to get out of a parking lot.

In the Paddy Wagon.

Quick, escorted and all traffic moves out of your way.

Or fake a heart attack.  Bills may actually induce real one. Demand they transport you want to Niagara Memorial... Then magically get better.  Uber across to airport.

Piece of cake.  You got this!

If he cuts through the Galleria leaving a game, he's really in trouble.

I do remember that thread.

We get there early enough to be in the first row of cars in the lot on Abbott behind K and K. If you have a truck, you can literally just drove over the curb onto Abbott, and you're on your way home. Super easy.

If its a rental... Even better.  Who cares about the suspension.

Last week I parked a few blocks East of Abbott but South of Southwestern. This way it way way easier to go East to get out then to go either South on Abbott or attempt Southwestern in either direction.  You can take this to the skyway and head to NF.

so... did you make your flight?

Hell yeah! Parked in a small lot on SW and California. Took me 10 minutes to exit the lot and I hit zero traffic once I hit the road (and yes, i stayed for the whole game). Took SW to Union and picked up the 90 at William St. Whole process was well under 60 minutes. Thanks to everyone for the tips!!
