Robert Kraft charged in prostitution ring bust ( Update: Kraft legal team accused of lying in court)

Spygate, deflategate, and now hookergate!  It's easy to see why people hate the Cheatriots.  Rightly or wrongly,  the leader of an organization has to set the moral compass for that organization.  Given this latest incident, it will be difficult for Kraft to hold his players and staff accountable for behavior detrimental to the NFL.  I doubt that he will be forced to sell his team but it would be in the league's best interest if he does.  You can just imagine the protests and bad press initiated by women's rights groups, if Kraft continues to be involved with the team.  He needs to go away!

I think that’s the point. Although I once remember Charlie sheen saying it’s just easier

The point is gold diggers are always playing for higher stakes than 500 bucks per hour.  Probably if you are a billionaire you just want to go to a woman where it is as simple as 500 bucks for the hour and then the matter is concluded.

i thought all this was victimless and any attempt to stop it is an infringement on sexual freedom choices

at least I've heard this 24/7 for most of the last 53 years from CNN and most liberal people in my life

Legalized prostitution: voluntary sex workers.

Criminalized prostitution: sex trafficking victims.

So simple, even liberals can understand it!

Or just $59 for a half hour at the human sex trafficking sweatshop if you are a  billionaire looking to save money.

So the most recent case of an owner who was basically forced to sell given the allegations against him, Jerry Richardson, begs the question, how comparable is the seriousness of the conduct? Richardson was accused of making inappropriate overtures/statements for the most part. So there is definitely precedent to push an established owner out the door. But who knows?

Prostitution and any connection to human trafficking has to be worse... Right?

regardless of the law, the Patriots image and the NFL are tarnished. Mostly the Patriots image, though.

An NFL owner paying for victims of human trafficking to have sex with him is not a good look and is going to cause all sorts of problems. Especially since it's NE, the team that is always winning and always on the forefront of sports media.

I for one am sick of seeing this guy and his son get stroked by the sports media.  I'm gonna bet the old man steps aside and junior takes over.  Let's hope that they follow the same path as the Raiders.

I would imagine that if this ends up with him getting forced out, the Kraft name will go with him...

Does the NFL have anyone else waiting in the wings to be an owner like Tapper was? I could see them wanting a quick and tidy move here.

I just don’t see how this will force him out.,

The connection to human trafficking seems a beat up.. I note the police  have only charged him with a misdemeanour,.

Also, from that same piece linked to above:

Jupiter is famously one of Belichick’s favorite places to spend time during the offseason. He and Holliday have been spotted vacationing there on multiple occasions, and his boat, “VII Rings,” is reportedly docked at the Jupiter Yacht Club.

This Schefter comment will be like a Rorschach test for TBD members.

This inside information comes from the chippies..."Kraft wasn't the biggest [name] involved".

I think this will not be taken anywhere near as serious as some are hoping.  It is a simple embarrassment.  One day class and a donation to the appropriate charity and it will be mitigated to a bad memory.  All the cheat gates are worse behavior.

I also wonder who is throwing stones from a glass house.

The charges mean absolutely nothing.

He was actively involved in human trafficking whether or not he was a decision maker in the process. The description of the conditions that these women were kept in alone is enough to make it clear that this isn't a basic prostitution thing. The public optic of this will be huge.

True Detective Season 4

I'm guessing its an Asian massage parlor, which are all associated with trafficking and have been forever... The press act like this is a new industry. Human Trafficking is just the new buzzword for it.

The NFL is very image conscious.  They can't very well suspend players ahead of their day in court and at the same time just let Kraft go as though it did not happen.  The schtick with CBS panning to Kraft's booth every time the Pats score is definitely on Goodell's mind this very moment and how it will offend women in the viewing audience.
