True.  But those sideline outs are not his strength.  So don't call them.

If the WR sells the out and gets the DB to jump the route, he can blow by him deep and hope NP doesn't misfire. That should work at least once for them

I can't wait for his break out game. I stand by this guy. He's going to have the only 300 yard game for the Bills this season. I don't say that blindly. I know he has INT's but he shows an understanding of the passing game, he just has to learn NFL game speed. He's young and lacks arm strength. The only way for him to beat NFL defenses is to play and learn.

So how have you concluded that "he shows an understanding of the passing game"?  His passing game has been a reproducible disaster.

I'd be punting on 3rd and 8.

That, at least, would set up a fake punt on 3rd down later in the game.

Make sure to short yourself a player or two...shows character in the face of adversity.  Or is it the inability of the HC and special team coach to count?

Then he shouldn't be playing....An NFL QB has to be able to throw an 8-10 yd out pattern.....with passing rules as they are now...that play should be completed most of the time

Maybe, but he's the guy right now, so play to his strengths and not his weaknesses.

Drew Brees has no arm and the out and hitch are passes he makes routine. It's about timing and decision making.

Drew Brees has no arm.   Right.

And yes, timing and decision making are admirable traits for a QB.

Yep. his future is on the line Sunday. If he sucks again, it should be all over for him

It should have been over after two weeks ago when he gave up the game to the Colts.

All we can do is be huge Peterman fans on Sunday,  then hold the door after the game and wish nate all the best in his new business career selling Amway.  Once all our qb 's are back, there is no reason to keep Nate Pick 6, Peterman.

This is the play sequence I want to see: a few throws to Zay in the middle.  Some completions.  Then make it look like he is telegraphing a sideline out.  All the DB's will jump, have him pump fake, then throw to a wide-open WR in the middle for a TD.

I can definitely see that happening. All they have to do is execute it right

I can't wait until Peterman wins this game, it's going to be the first step to him being the back-up next year. It's funny how hard most of you are cheering for this kid to fail when the opposite only helps this team in the long-run.

we want him to play well and win...this team needs a QB but his play has been awful up to now...You don't think we'd love to see 300 yds...TDs and a WIN?

Only the jerks are rooting for him to do poorly. That's different from concluding he doesn't have the skill set to be an NFL qb. I think he's out of the league after this year. I certainly hope he has a good game or at least a decent game so he has a few good memories from playing here. I think it would be near miraculous for him to become a competent backup. Great if it happens.

No one is rooting for him to fail. Tickets are expensive and I want to see NFL caliber talent out there.

Peterman has failed all on his own many times. I dont know how many chances this kid needs before we finally cut bait. Hes a liability with the ball in his hands

Dilemma.

I'm scared that Nate will give a repeat performance and just make a laughable mess of things again.

I'm even more scared that he might actually play well because that would mean I have to question everything I think I know about life, reality and the nature of existence.

First, he didn't play against the Colts. It was Derek Anderson who had 4 turnovers and no touchdowns in a 37-5 loss.

Second, when Peterman did start against the Colts in 2017, the Bills won and he was 5 of 10 for 57 yards with a TD and no interceptions. Yes, the Bills have won when Peterman started. In fact they are 1-0 at home when he starts.

You are right.  It is the Nate Peterman era.  He will lead us to where we want to go.

I didn't say he started against the Colts, but he finished the game in more ways than one.

If you are a Peterman. Great.  But why are you so angry?

Again, he didn't play against the Colts. Are you talking about the Texans where he threw a TD and 2 picks after he came in and played behind a line that got Allen knocked out after he threw zero touchdowns?

And I am not angry, I just am annoyed Bill's fans listen to these idiot national reporters that act like the Bill's line and receivers are not an issue and it is all Peterman. They lost the last two games and our QB turned the ball over SIX times with a pick 6 and had no touchdowns. His name wasn't Peterman.

Peterman has earned his reputation.   Most if not all of his picks we throwing errors, not balls going off the receivers hands.  We have seen bad quarterback play this year.  Nate leads the pack in that category.

He's thrown a few nfl td's, his toss to Zay was perfect.

He's a half the field thrower, they need to roll him out if he's gonna throw to that side.  Keep him in the pocket if he's going down the seams, and for god's sake no throws in the flat unless it's a pump fake to get the corner to think they're gonna get an easy one (why wouldn't they?)

Funny I had this game as the one we'd be starting Josh after riding the bench for the first half of the season and learning the pro game.   If only our GM could have done better in securing a vet to start the season.

Why do you care so much about that? I don't want him worrying about turnovers. As soon as that happens might as well cut him. Obviously he can't keep making the same mistakes but he hasn't played enough to learn from mistakes.

Let him play the rest of the season like we planned. Let him learn. What do you want, Derek Anderson? Please.

When you toss an INT every 8 pass attempts you simply aren't afforded whatever amount of time it takes to learn.  Its not fair to the other 52 players on the roster who risk their health while Peterman learns which color unis we are wearing week in week out.

[peterman throws 4 INTs and is sacked 7 times vs the Bears]

peterman apologists: I still want to see him finish out the season. He’s due for a big game and he keeps playing hard defenses and aw shucks he’s such a nice guy. Just needs a redemption game.

He’d never stay on the field after the first 2, so he’s either going to play significantly better and there will be a lot of “crow” for dinner on these boards after, or he’ll be out before halftime and we get our first forgettable look at Barkley.

Lmao.

So when he actually starts worrying about TOs is when we should cut him?

What world are you living in?

The world where DA has shown that for this season there’s simply not much better to replace NP with in the backup ranks. I have to hold my breath every time DA takes a step that he doesn’t snap a leg and his TD to turnover differential would make even NP shrug. None of that is DA’s fault given the circumstances, but to think that we are about to witness some sort of significant drop off from our QB play with NP this week would be shortsighted IMHO.
