I wouldn't mind Foles and then drafting Lamar Jackson at #22. The OC could get very creative in using Jackson while having him develop under Foles.

I likes this option as well.  I would prefer to move up into the top five, but Foles is a known entity.

Why would we trade away a 1st for a QB who will be here for at best 2-3 seasons

I think people have to get away from the notion that all these guys would be bridge QBs only.

Foles is only 28 and he's had some real success.   He's also had some time when he's been pretty ugly.    But the success has been more than an accident.   He has some talent.

It takes time to learn to play QB in the NFL, and Foles, like Cousins, could be just now coming into his own.    Three years from now, Brady, Ben, Brees, Rivers will all be gone.   Who will be the five best QBs in the league?   It's not so obvious, because there isn't anyone who compares with them.   Foles actually could be one of them.

Getting a guy like Foles is the safe play.   He can be good enough to carry you for a couple of years, and he also might turn into your long term starter.

They can easily move up from 12.

Easily, huh?  I guess Beane should've hired you as his assistant.

You have to find a trade partner and be willing to pay their asking price.  That's not easy.

I just can't see the Bills going for Foles...

If we add Foles and he plays well, the Bills would have to offer a Cousins type contract based on a very small sample size by the time he hits free agency... Basically it would set ourselves up for a Fitzpatrick type mistake along with significant draft capital loss...

I have to think the draft picks are going to be converted to a top-5 pick and rookie qb.

of COURSE you would.

We DO have to have a starter next year.  Everyone is enamored with the idea that we're going to trade up and get the golden ticket and pick Josh Frozen Rope Rosen or whoever.

Fine.  But what if we can't trade up?  Price is too high, or we get close and then Clowns take Rosen and Giants take Mayfield and the Colts take Darnold.  Could happen.  Or what if we get Frozen Rope and he gets injured in training camp?

I'd just like to have a QB on the roster that can play at a decent level so we can improve on last years results.  (Without Hotrod how could we not? :))  The fact that he's a Super Bowl MVP and highest rated QB in the playoffs doesn't hurt either.

Go BILLS !!!

Foles actually makes a ton of sense. He'd be cheap for the year while they evaluate him. If he plays well then you give him a huge deal. If he doesn't, you let him walk.

Right?  People get hysterical on the off chance trading up to 2 doesnt work for us.  Should definitely be prepared in case it doesnt happen

I mean, It is possible that tipster is making this up, I don't know either way. What I do know, is that If I had just spent considerable time in a Florida DMV, I wouldn't know the difference between left and right, let alone between a reliable source and not.

No bro, I might be a lot of things but one thing that I’m not, I’m not a liar. This whole DMV thing really happened. Now does it come to fruition, while I guess we’ll all find out soon enough.

All the posts that I have made I never quote anyone, it’s totally has always just my opinion. Go back and check if you like and you’ll find out that I’m telling you the truth.

As as far as anybody attacking people for having an opinion or making a comment is total bs. If people don’t like a person or that person’s opinion or comments then don’t read his threads, what else can I say.

there is one thing that the DMV guy said and that is when I asked him if he ever goes to our message board he says that he does but only reads it. He said that he made 5 posts but people here like to attack each other so he’s out on posting. I wonder how many other people feel like that...

Welll, you just answered your own question I think.  If we don't acquire a QB who is shown to play on an equal or better level to Tyrod, we could very easily not.

Exactly my point... he plays well one year and you're ready to give him a massive deal.  With a rookie, you can see several years of development to understand his true ceiling.  A big contract to Foles with a small data set would be a huge risk to the Bills future.

Not enough.

I also wasn't accusing you of lying. I mostly said what I did as a joke about the DMV.

If he's Super Bowl MVP again, than it's an easy choice.

Dude.

If you post supposed "secret rumors" or something along those lines - and they don't come true - you are going to get roasted.   You have to know that going in.

The only fun whatsoever in rumors that don't come true is watching the dude get roasted who published them.

Thanks for providing the entertainment!

You put him in the RPO and see how he plays. If he plays the way you expect him to and does well, he's worth taking the risk on. If you want to hedge your bets, you franchise him at the end of the year  and let him play for a second year, and then make a decision at the end of 2019.

i know people like to pick on 550... but Sal just dropped a ton of common sense thats not very common around here RE Foles....

WHY SPEND MORE RESOURCES ON A QB WHEN YOU PLAN ON MOVING UP?!?!?

What makes you think that Sal knows what the Bills' true intentions are?

and just keep putting off trying to find your young franchise guy for the umpteenth time?

For Nick Freaking Foles??

a guy who had a good year once.... then went splat... then strung 3 or 4 competent games together with a dumbed down/simplified playbook?

Even IF they didnt want a young guy, how many times do we need to go for the fools gold?

i dont... nor did i say he did... What i did say, is he spelled it out for the pro foles crowd that it just...doesn't...make...sense....

and honestly, i dont even mind Foles... it just seems counterproductive to what they are trying to accomplish.

i mean, they've done everything but come out and hand out a pamphlet to the media about their plan to get up in order to get their guy...

but even still, people clamor for Foles, or think they have a 'target' at #12. It seems to be denial - a disconnect with reality as it were.

If it makes their day to day life a little easier to live-fine. whatever. "you do you" type thing.

for everyone else - it just gets old. Its like seeing jahovas witnesses coming down the street and you just run and hide b/c you dont want to deal with it
