Bakin
FWIW, i like it. Glenn was a good player for us but he clearly was replaceable and Dion played well last year. Nice to get rid of his salary and his recent injuries were clearly concerning. Cogs’ fantastic season was a key reason for Dawkins excellent performance, and so I would expect that if that side of the line stays healthy we should get the same or better results next year. The traded netted us the equivalent of a mid to late 2nd (based on draft point value).

bkep32
Hell yes a guy that has only played half a season last 2 years and we move up to 12...we could turn 21, 22, TT, and glenn maybe into pick #3 when all said and done

Buffalo Boy
Abso Freakin lutely!!!! I asked last year if people trusted McBean after the Sammy trade and people were hemming and hawing. How many were calling for one or the others head last year at some point. Ridiculous amounts of shade thrown at the both of ‘em. “ How ya like me now?!!!” They know we can do without him. My hunch is he doesn’t stay healthy from here on out for long stretches. How did Sammy do last year? How did Darby do last year?
707BillsFan
Cordy seems to be a breaking down a bit; 16 starts last two seasons. He can turn it around, but it appears he's been replaced...thus expendable. We move up to possibly get a QB in this years draft. How can you not like it? It's the 12th pick of the 1st round BTW I think picks are overrated! Many rookie players don't pan out. While proven starters are... proven. This makes sense because it was a case of his huge salary becoming expandable since his replacement played well. And now the Bills have ammo to trade for the top picks. Yet sooooo many busts in the first picks I can't believe people still worship draft picks to that extent! You can find the precious gems, but many duds in there too.
JimKellyTryouts
TBD, but probably yes soon enough -If we do end up successfully trading up to get our favorite guy and not settling -as well as fortify our right OL (and aging interior) to some of extent so the kid will have time to throw

gobills1212
So a dupe Glenn post.... But with a poll:) Oddly, I'm shocked Bengals fans love this as much as they do. They don't seem to mind the $$, the injury, or oddest of all moving down. In fact, the like it because they were worried about reaching at 12. Man does that seem backwards. Shame they don't have any other higher picks:) Edited March 12, 2018 by gobills1212
aceman_16
We essentially got a mid 2nd round pick for him AND dropped his salary. The amount of money we will have in free agency is SICK! PS and it helps us move up in the draft to grab our future QB. Edited March 12, 2018 by aceman_16

A second for Glenn, and the first third for Taylor. Yeah, I'm OK with that.

Like I posted, the move is good because his huuuuuuge salary made him expandable since his replacement played well - and who knows if he'll play like before given his injuries. Just trading a proven starter for a pick would be bad. But salary caps, years left on contract, injuries, etc. so many factors to consider. I voted yes because of that. HansLanda
What's not to like? It's a clear indication this front office is going to get a QB in a seemingly QB-rich draft. They are also gutting the roster of bloated Whaley contracts.

Amazing trade. For example, Texans gave up 2017 25th pick and 2018 1st round pick to Cleveland for pick 12 last year. We gave up 21 and Glenn. SouthNYfan
I only like it if we package #12 and continue to move up to get a top QB Sitting at #12 means that at 4 QBs most likely will go before we pick, if the reports are true about Cousins to Minny, and Miami wanting Mayfield. (Browns, Denver, Jets are almost certainly in, and Miami might go Mayfield if he's available) That's really bad if we just made that trade to not get any of the top4

A simple use of the Google machine tells a pretty accurate story. Dude gets paid a ton, is a bit of a reclamation project, and 12 to 21 is HUGE. No funny business, I kinda feel for em. To rationalize that 12 was too high a pick... that must mean they have been through the ringer. That can't be fun. Blokestradamus
It's a good move for the ambitions of the team. It represents good value for the player. They still have to nail the next trade, the QB pick and find a long term answer at RT for me to be overjoyed at it. Cordy has been one of my favourites since his rookie year, I'm sad to see him go. Hard worker, heart of a warrior, never caused a second of trouble, high calibre individual on and off the field.
