Wrapped up in the scandal, deemed a “pyramid scheme” by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Larsen in court, is former Florida quarterback Shane Matthews, who has already received a three-month prison sentence “for his bit role working for Grow’s marketing company,” per the Herald.

Matthews, 47, a 14-year NFL veteran, received $440,000 as a member of Grow’s independent marketing team. It is unknown whether Matthews will be forced to serve his full sentence.

Shane Matthews reportedly must begin a three-month prison sentence by June as part of his plea agreement, plus pay $439,000 in restitution, for his involvement in a $20 million healthcare fraud conspiracy that placed former Florida player Monty Grow at the center of the controversy.

I was hoping it was Orton, I’ll never get over that slide.

I know what you mean, but when you consider the circumstances surrounding him joining the team last second and what not, he did a pretty solid job for us.

getting?

I know, preposterous, at least on the surface!

But I may, in fact, have aged a year or two since that delay of game penalty in Cinci.

BTW, who else had nightmares about that play and game when Jacksonville did the same thing at NE?

I think it would be hilarious to see which QB first popped into people's minds when they saw this thread title.

I agree with the other poster, I thought for sure it would be Hobert.

The Holcomb checkdown on 4th and 8 to end a close game against the Pats was another epic moment

Didnt losman once throw it away on fourth down?

I thought for sure this would be Hobert. He committed one of the biggest frauds in Bills history when he got paid and had no idea of the playbook in 1997. Rob Johnson was another fraud who took the Bills for millions with nothing in return.  There's a whole bunch of Bills (non QBS) who should be charged for fraud and have to pay back the fans. Mike Williams, Aaron Maybin to name a few.

I remember him. I don't think he played one snap for the Bills.

Actually he was 2 for 3, 1TD 0 picks with a 149.3 QBR for the Bills

I get your frustrations and angle but.......

No no no and no

They are paid to appear just like any entertainer. If they fail expectations they then do not get a next contract or it is reduced.

People continually want to break down athletes salary into stat increments. So much a yard, so much a carry, so much a TD etc etc...... It does not work that way for entertainers. You pay them a contract to appear and perform/entertain. In NFL case for a season. Movie stars for a movie. Singers for a 1 off concert or extended show engagements like Vegas did with Celine Dion or Cher.

You never hear anyone say Tom Cruise got paid $71.53 for each word he spoke in said movie. Or Cher got paid $19,473.00 for ea song ea night she sang at her casino resident show in Vegas. She was not getting pd more if she encored and played a couple extra one night or cut it short one song because her throat was killing her.

And certainly you never hear anyone expecting a refund if the show was performed yet they were not as entertaining as they expected. You just don't go next time.

We already have one in jail. Art Schlischter was signed as a backup in the 1986 off season and released before the preseason although he never played a game for us
