Ha - what's funny, is at random points during literally every season, the memory of the Odes just randomly pops in my head.  At least 2 - 4 times a season.  Brain like, "Hey Heitz, remember those?"  Yup, I do...

:D:beer:

Jesus. Did you put this on your calendar?

I meant to do something special for this, but I'm just swamped right now. If someone has any suggestions please offer them.

How about draining the swamp! :D

And - for posterity....  Ye olde D&C Hyperbills....  Oldest page I could find on that in the Wayback.  Complete with a discussion of HYPERBILLS TAILGATE....  (their caps)....

Oh - and I forgot to say it again in this post, when I meant to.

Happy Birthday to TSW!  and A huge thanks to SDS for keeping the lights lit.  I'm sure it hasn't always been easy.

I always thought in TBD mythology The Avenger posted the first message.  I guess the first "non-Scott" message...

I actually think he was the one who emailed me and asked me to start the message board.

Wow this post is awesome!! Totally takes me back to the old internet of the 90s!! I was on the Alt. Bills usenet group for a while, I  think until Outlook eventually stopped using a newsreader?? Seems so archaic now!

AS for the first post? Trading up for Ryan Leaf!!!! LOL I forgot what a highly touted prospect he was before the draft. He was cant miss. Flutie was signed just before the launch of TBD? I can actually remember that brief honeymoon where it was just Flutie? Am I remembering that right? Johnson arrived through trade in February and the circus began.

Thanks for the nostalgia trip!!

Are there other world problems we can fix if we simply email you? That’s a serious skill. Thanks!

This is bringing me memories. 21 years ago I was 15 and remember reading this stuff on the Prodigy Netscape page. Then later on AOL

Yeah, I remember wife and I walking thru a mall and there was a Prodigy kiosk. We signed up right away.  Not long before I was hooked.   Sports updates were in text, like "Smith hits home run"

Note the extensive QA I did back then... I went live after two test posts (my first official post was post #3). ?

That was like the Wright brothers. Now we drive remote control vehicles on Mars. The world is a crazy place! Thanks for keeping up. The new platform was a pretty easy adjustment, and a nice upgrade.

This board is incredible!

For me, it's like crack cocaine!!

It's all so good, addicting.  Great stuff.

Crack is so outdated. Get with it. Try heroin with a mixture of fentanyl. You'll get a kick out of it. It'll also make you more mellow when you duel with Doc. :)

You know, i was thinking heroin, but only crack had the immediate hunger for more as soon as you come down.  heroin just keeps you asleep.

This place is amazing. So many great people over the years.

Thanks Scott for grabbing us by the eyeballs and never letting go.

I'm wondering where the craziest, far away places people have logged in from...I remember checking in from Haiti once over 10 years ago on the slowest connection you can imagine...

Wow that is funny to read. Funny how little things have changed. People burying a QB others not being down on Todd Collins. I thought everyone just agreed he sucked... I was very young when he started but I got the vibe everyone thought he sucked.

Did he really have backers back in the day?

The first ever post on The Stadium Wall was exactly 20 years ago today:

Old School, yo!

So classic! One of the comments I read was concern about signing Flutie and should they trade up for Ryan Leaf!

I love this place so much. Its amazing and each person makes it better. I don't know what I would do without this place...probably work lol

The first capture of TwoBillsDrive.com is equally fun

https://web.archive.org/web/19980110130307/http://twobillsdrive.com/

Wade Phillips becoming head coach, and debating possible OC candidates...

Such classic features as Kultarr's Pouch, On The Lamb, and Spy on the East.

No doubt followed four posts later by "I am so done with this team" and "This board is nothing like the old Rochester D&C board!"

Lol. It's like deja vu all over again...

"Well I'm glad to see that some of us have found this site and made it over here. Let me ask some of you. I haven't been on the D&C; BB since Sunday. What happened to shut it down and which fool was involved? Will the shut down be permanent? Whatever the case we need to spread the word to the TRUE Bills fans (not the idiots) about this board to bring our Hyperbills (or now TBD) family together again. Nice job, TBD!!"

This post got me thinking back to the days before TBD and the usenet Bills newsgroup. I think that was my first experience with the concept of a Troll. I can remember a couple of the early Patriot trolls called "Man in CT" and " Pats wicked pissah" that would wind up Bills fans back then. Hell there are so many Pats trolls in here now that they are probably still on here!!

The first website I ever went to was Bills related, pretty sure it was bb.com, or it could have just been an altavista search for "Buffalo Bills." My dad got the internet at his office and it was a big deal so he picked me up one day after school and we headed over to where he worked and fired up netscape navigator and his 14.4 connection. A mere 15 minutes later I was able to see a very grainy picture of Thurman Thomas.

Happy Birthday TSW.

What kind of birthday cake would be appropriate for the tailgate next year?  Maybe a cake in the shape of a giant pickle with green frosting? Or as someone said in that thread..."a giant abortion"?

Imma go ahead and pass on the birthday cake...
