Fan in San Diego
Sad. LA can't even support 1 team. What's sad is that Dean Spanos won't pony up the dough to build a stadium. Why should the citizens of San Diego pay for his workplace? Pay for it yourself Spanos! Tightwad!
YoloinOhio
Figured this was coming. And their fans did too and didn't want any more lame duck seasons. Sad but inevitable. The city didn't care and the owner is cheap.
KD in CA
Doubt it. Vegas throwing dollar bills at them like they were at the strip club I didn't say it was a good chance! Then again, if the Raiders leave the Bills might be on TV a little more often here.

#34fan
Sounds like a nuclear option scare tactic... I personally don't think it'll happen.... If it does, It'll be the WORST thing to happen to LA since the riots.

#34fan
Bizarre comment. LA, is 1000% RAIDER COUNTRY... Charger-Raider games will almost always be lethal to some poor fan.
Acantha
Who was the poster who used to go on long rants about how stupid everyone was for thinking a team would ever end up back in LA?
Marv's Neighbor
Despite what the NFL may want, LA can't support 1 team, 2 will be a disaster. The demographics do not support the NFL. They'd have more success with bull fighting, and MMA.
DC Grid
Sad to see the Chargers go, but it's a rare city that is financially better off with an NFL team. You can effectively build around an NBA, NHL, MLB or even a MLS team these days, but the short schedule and extremely limited cross purpose functions of an NFL stadium makes sure that any city backing an NFL team is doing it as a charitable act. I think there is some true value to having a local identity established by an NFL in the rare Buffalo's Green Bay's of the world....but that was never SD. zow2
This sucks for San Diego but for the hard core Chargers fans...at least the 2 cities are only a two hour drive apart. I imagine their fan base in LA will still have plenty of San Diego fans making the drive.
DDD
Props to the citizens of San Diego. You did not allow an NFL owner to use your hard earned money to finance a stadium for his profit. You are not defined by a football team, live in a great city, and will keep more of your money in your own pocket.

I guarantee that they will move most if not all of their TV production out there once their new stadium is built.
