I hope he has a great rebound season for a few reasons;

1st;   He seems like a genuinely good guy.

2nd;  I've always been a sucker for a good comeback story.

3rd; The idea of coming to Buffalo to revitalize your NFL career is a great narrative for the Bills.

Good luck Mitch!

(Except for Week 5.  I hope you throw 5 picks that week and fumble twice)

I'm torn I also like mitch, even before here it was pretty obvious he got a raw deal.

That said I watch a lot of pitt the last few years and I want KP to win starting job. Hoping mitch plays will and Pickett just looks so good they can't keep him off field.

Side note Pickens is going to be the best WR off the class.

To me it was all about the over hype he got and then the ineptitude of the Bears.

he can be a starter but not necessarily a top 10 kinda guy

Him being named Captain means he's earned the respect of the coaches and the team...

I'm happy for him.

Zach Wilson was named captain for the Jets..

Tua named captain for the Dolphins..

Amazing that we live in a time with so many QBs being such great leaders.. and it's not at all a default for the QB

This is awesome. My daughter was a nurse in the pediatric ICU at UNC hospital.  She currently is pursuing a PhD as a certified nurse anesthetist at Duke (dad brag moment).  Mitchell was a frequent visitor to the pediatric ICU during her time there. Just a super good young man.

Has he been named starter?

If not he should be by default. IMO, when you have a rookie QB you let the incumbent lose the job first. That way there is no questioning the decision when you put in the rook. Because rookies will always struggle eventually. Pitt knows what they're doing. On the flip side, we saw the Dolphins botch that up in Tua's first year.

Good for Mitch, sorta....

1. He has a "local" grad in Pickett, waiting in the wings.  It will be early in the 3rd quarter of week 1, when Steeler fans are calling for the rookie to take over.

2. Steelers oline is bad, likely bottom 5 of NFL.  Good thing Mitch has his mobility

Not liking his chances of a rebound season, specifically #2, but also the pressure of holding onto his starting job each week. I think we will see Kenny take over by week 8.

for the week at least

Steelers have a new IOL.  If they play well enough to give Mitch time, I feel he will succeed.

They open on the road against the Bengals and then home against the Pats.

That ought to tell a lot about how they can play.

I think you’ll be surprised. Mitch is a very solid QB and will finally be able to show that.

The incumbent is Rudolph

Mitch is a good QB.  Not going to take you to the promised land, but he will be in the Top 16 QB's in the league.  He is a solid starter.  His career stats are quite good. His 2018 was exceptional.  He got his team in position to win playoff game too.  Kicker missed 43 yarder to win playoff game.

It's almost as if leadership is a part of that position or something.

Yep.  The Steelers are in a very tough division and they aren't a franchise (or fanbase) that would accept a 4-13 "rebuilding" season with a raw rookie QB...

They also aren't going to sit around quietly while Mitch heads to 4-13.

He is the greatest 6 completion (well, 7, if you include the INT) QB ever to wear the Bills jersey!!

I agree…if Mitch doesn’t play well, he won’t be the starter for long.  The Steelers have some pretty nice weapons, though, so he at least has a chance….

And bench him for whom?  Rudolph, since Pickett couldn't even win the backup QB job.  lol...weo.
