But dont the refs make shady calls under head office instruction to ensure that the two most popular teams get through to the SB to maximise the audience?

Read it here many times during the season

Just because the refs aren't throwing themselves at the feet of players to stop TDs or whatever, doesn't mean they're not doing what they can.  Chiefs got away with murder today.

Hey, that's what I thought I learned here early on in the season. Word was that New England vs Tampa Bay was already set up.

Each time I watch the Niners, I think I post the same thing. How bad is Lance for Jimmy G to be on the field?

It's a good point but you gotta think the 9ers are just playing the vet that is more likely to protect the ball and manage the game so they can keep their very good D/ST's involved in the outcome.

Like when KC had Alex Smith starting and Mahomes on the bench - the team is doing too well with him playing.  You can’t rock that boat and pull the QB you’re winning with to start a rookie.

The 49ers fans are LOUD.  Embarrassing for the Rams.

LA is one of the most shallow places on earth. Everyone bought tickets to scalp them to the highest bidder, hence what you see tonight

Can we use this thread to complain about the Bills too?

LOL   I was going to comment on the Chiefs/Bengals thread about that but I said to myself it wasn't worth it.

The venom will never stop leaching out.  That's always true and not even just about this season.

If the Rams don’t win it all this year I don’t see how they get back with no 1st round picks, $14 million over the cap, 7 players making $15+ mill per season(4 making $20+ mill) and Miller and Beckham being UFA’s.

They only have a 5th and 2-7th round picks in the 2022 draft. 2023 they have a 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th.

Great point, it makes total sense. Why ruin what works? Rookie QB’s are known to make crazy mistakes. However, Jimmy G isn’t the best with ball security either. He also seems incapable of making plays that redeem those mistakes. It’s possible rookie mistakes would even out if the guy was capable of making big plays.

I suppose there’s a certain level of comfort with a veteran QB, and he got them to the championship game, regardless of my opinion. I just can’t imagine being an offensive minded coach like Shanahan and not getting restless enough to make a move. I suppose he deserves credit for being patient. It could be the right long term play. We’ll see.

Agree, but Alex Smith was never as bad as Jimmy G. I suppose that would be a separate debate itself. Watch KC with Alex Smith in the playoffs, then watch Jimmy G playoff football. Jimmy G gives you bottom shelf QB play, Smith was a step up imo.

Yeah, it might be a coinflip regarding which of the two is going to hurt you less.

Could be a case of a coach just taking the conservative option as a default so he doesn't get blamed for making the riskier decision.

Things lining up for Bengals if Rams can win.

Higbee and Akers have both been hurt.

Yeah, Idk. I think both defenses on the field right now are better than anything they've faced thus far
