I hate Eichel and was a very early adopter of that.  Thought they should have (needed to) trade him years ago.

The team is way more likeable without him on it.  The dynamics of the team with him as the captain must have been awful.

Can't help but think about what could have been had we won the lottery after the tank.  It should have been McDavid's prime we wasted with 7 years of futility!!!

That post game interview speaks volumes about Jack and his lack of maturity.  As much as it must hurt to come back and lose a game that Vegas needed badly he needed to just grit his teeth and throw out the cliches:

"they were the better team out there tonight and deserved to win but I have to do better"

"they have a great fanbase here and they were really behind them tonight and I think it gave them an extra lift"

you know ***** that nobody actually believes but the smart players say it anyway.

Instead we got pouty whiny Jack on full display.  He never was and never will be a leader despite all that talent.

Spot on. I couldn’t believe he leaned in like that. I thought the quotes were fake until I saw the video, which was somehow worse.

He just seems extremely immature and unprofessional.

Do you not know about McDavid in EDM? Not that different?

My buddy worked as the chief engineer for the facility. Six years ago I had a tour of the behind the scenes there. I asked him what’s going on here. He said it was jack.

Yep I know someone involved with the team that saw that firsthand as well.

Did anyone hear something about Josh Allen not wanting to tv ads with Eichel? I'm catching bits and pieces of reactions from people on Twitter but not the actual story

Paul Hamilton apparently said in GR that at some point, Josh approached PSE and said he’d never make another video with Eichel again because of how disinterested he seemed during the one they were in together.

Judge for yourself.  I haven’t watched yet but this must be the reference.

Just night and day. As Beane said at draft time, Josh Allen is Buffalo. He represents the city. Eichel represents some rich portion of California.

Rich area of boston

He didn't come from money. North Chelmsford, MA is a working class suburb of Lowell, about 25 miles from Boston. His head got big because he was always an exceptional player at every level. The Golden Child. Until he arrived in Buffalo he never played on a bad team. Never had to overcome anything.

Rich portion of California?

He's a masshole through and through

Maybe his parents weren't millionaires but they definitely weren't poor

He's got that Boston arrogance through and through

The Eichels have a typical middle class lifestyle.  You don't have to be rich to be a Masshole.

True, though Edmonton hasn't done a lot with McDavid either...

It takes more than a few super stars---and Eichel is a LONG way away from the "generational talent" he was rumored to be.

He's probably the 10th best center in the league (or so).  Damn fine player, good for 1.3 points per game.  Can do a lot of winning with a guy like that, but to think of him as by far the best draft prospect in 20 years, as it turns out, is laughable....

PS:  He's right with what he said about that being the loudest game in Buffalo that he ever heard.  That building has been SILENT with the worst atmosphere in the league for over a decade now.  I and hundreds of other Sabres fans have been bitching about this at Sabres forums since long before we drafted Eichel.

Sure, he didn't "say the right thing" but I applaud him for speaking his mind.  He's a no-bull#### kind of guy.

I still can't believe we traded away by far our 2 best players (Eichel and Reinhart) and thought that would make the team better somehow....

OMG Eichel is a no BS guy?  He’s literally all BS off the ice.

If the Sabres had landed McDavid maybe the completely inept Murray still screws it up……probably even…….but maybe the locker room isn’t so toxic that guys like ROR have to leave.  It’s hard to separate some of this stuff but one thing is for sure……Eichel is good riddance.

Just passed the Sabres getting onto the team bus to leave Tim Hortons Field, and one of them said “remember that one game the Bills played the Patriots? I think this might be windier.”

Is this intermission at the 10 minute mark of the 3rd for ice maintenance? Outdoor games only?

Might be an outdoor rule to remove any wind advantage. Each team goes both ways for 30 minutes

On another note, why do our white jerseys look like they have been in our equipment bags for the last 5 weeks?

It's not about making the team better this year. The future looks good. Imagine if they had average goaltending all season. They would a .500 team. I think next year will be much better.

As a long time season ticket holder, I can personally attest that Eichel is full of crap with that comment.

It's definitely fun watching a young team learn how to win

They will have to prove it next year when the pressure is on. I have seen it to many times when bad teams out of the playoff race start to play well because their is no pressure on them. Lets see them do next year and actually win consistently while in a playoff race.
