Straight Hucklebuck
I agree with others than note Shi Smith taken one pick later. Mostly on the basis of Senior Bowl practice reports and game results. Shi Smith was rated a tick higher by most outlets. Stevenson did report that he consistently runs 4.38 in training. Also, the 6.46 3-cone is 100th percentile. Edited May 2, 2021 by Straight Hucklebuck
TheBrownBear
Usually, I take a guy's "I ran slow that day, but I'm actually 4.x" with a grain of salt, but based on the highlights this guy is telling the truth. That is elite game speed right there. At a minimum, he looks like an impactful gadget player/returner, with the potential for more. Seems like outstanding value in the 6th round. Already excited to see him suit up to see what he's got. 3

starrymessenger
Really excited to see what he can bring. He is facing a learning curve no question. To max out his potential as a NFL receiver he needs to refine/develop his route tree, learn to use his hands (body catcher) and up his physicality (blocking downfield, beating press coverage) a notch - and of course avoid injury down time. If he is able to do these things he will turn out to be a major steal of the draft. 4

I think the Bills were looking for a returner who could play some receiver rather than a receiver who could compete as a returner and that is probably what tilted the choice towards a guy like Stevenson.

It is also possible to deduce mph from game film look at individual frames per second. If I have time later in the week I may take a look and see where his top gear hits. From the sound of it, he needs to strengthen his upper body, learn to run routes, and master our offense. All of which my boy Zee_thoven has done Brandon Powell is not conceding the KR/PR battle to Isaiah just yet. Also, he has very little experience returning punts. He’s a KR. Very few actually do both like Andre Roberts. Whereas McKenzie is a PR and not a KR. I think they will give Stevenson the opportunity to earn the KR role and therefore a Roster spot where he can also be used as a WR 5/6 in the passing game as a speed threat
