Say goodbye to Milano, Roberts, Mata, etc etc. .. The new deal will likely kick-in in the 5th year, i.e. 2022. Next year (at least) will be cheap. As much as we dislike Brady, he did this and the pats were consistent winner because of it. Yes he did but it was a bit overblown. Yes he was never the highest paid QB but with each extension he signed he was still usually in the top 3. And its not ad if the Pats actually used that extra cash often. They let high priced talent walk and replaced them or at least tried to replace them. The Gilmore contract was the anomaly

Jerome007 599
When will teams learn from the Cheatriots? Help Josh create his super company, JA17, that provides invaluable "consulting services"; pay him a super salary cap friendly deal while some of Pegula's other companies have this urgent need of the unique type of consulting only JA17 can provide 🙃

aristocrat 2,632
You pay mvps who elevate the rest of your team. You don’t pay the other guys. Beane needs to draft even better now. Get cheap guys that want to ring chase or want a big contract after they’ve played for us
Ya Digg? 340
1 hour ago, ProcessTruster said: If they do it now, whole lotta good players gonna get cut on Mar 1 . Say goodbye to Milano, Roberts, Mata, etc etc. ..gotta believe this goes down after next year so they get at least one more year with the key parts of the roster... salary cap will be low next year People gotta stop saying this, this is absolutely untrue! Will they be able to re-sign everyone they want? No, but that’s always been the case. There are always ways to move around money to pay the guys you want to pay, and that’s what good GM’s do. Look at KC, Seattle, Baltimore, New Orleans, New England-these guys sign their own and all have multiple big contract guys. Let Josh get paid what he is worth and let the front office do their job and make the salary cap work. Paying Josh less than what he is worth makes the organization look cheap and players don’t want to play for a cheap organization.
BITE ME 802
If he wins the Super Bowl he gets Mahomes money. If he bows out early we are talking Jared Goff type money. I am guessing two wins and a loss in the AFC Championship game would put him in that DeShaun Watson category. He has to win big games though if he is going to make our cap tough to deal with. Ethan in Portland 2,623
This is such lazy reporting that they should be ashamed. Any one of the posters on this board could have written the same article. It's pure speculation and you can just cut and paste Bills and Allen with Ravens and Jackson.

We don’t have much cap space for 2021 but beyond that our cap space is pretty flexible. I expect a 10 year contract with clauses that really make it 5 years, but because they want to pay him big $ next season, he'll get a big signing bonus which will be spread out over 10 years. He'll be making franchise QB money next year. So, if he gets a $40 million signing bonus, it will count $4 million next year on the cap.
