NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the Jags intend to decline the defensive tackle's $19.5 million option. Jacksonville had until Feb. 25 to make the decision. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001102813/article/roundup-jaguars-to-decline-dt-marcell-dareus-option Kick them big fat tires. 2 hours ago, Buffalo716 said: I would totally do it for league minimum. Rex took a generational 3 tech and made him a plug and that was stupid He could replace Phillips easily and at the 3 tech would probably be juiced up to play again Dareus and Oliver. Then after the problems arose I wanted him off the team, same with Lynch, despite his talents he wasn’t worth the headache and the Bills backed him up and gave him several chances and he pissed them all away just like lynch did And then Lynch got a SB ring and we didn’t even sniff the playoffs. Alphadawg7
He wont be back. Part of the reason he was traded was locker room fit. I mean we gave him away for peanuts mid season, they clearly felt he was not a process guy or they would have at least held on to him until end of season to see if they could get more in trade for him. Thurman#1
Whether we boards folk would take him is beside the point. McDermott has made plain his feelings about the guy by cutting him when he was still easily one of the better players on the team and at a time when cutting him was financially punitive. It’s all about risk/reward. Anyone talking about his contract or off the field issues is missing the point. He’s not coming here as a high-priced star. He’d be a “buy-low” high upside piece. He’d rotate in on the DL. why do you feel he would he high upside ? Or was the "high " part sarcasm. babulator
On the serious side, what's a guy like this even worth? Obviously, someone will pay him more than league minimum but how much? I wouldn't want him at any price. He's always had low motivation and I believe achieved largely due to his physical prowess that has since faded.
