Just Jack
Trick or treaters that is. New house for us, so we weren't sure how much to buy. Busy street, we know there are kids in the area, and there are sidewalks, so no walking in the road. Got two 150 piece bags from Costco, had a total of two T&Ters. One bag we didn't open so we'll return that. The other will go to work with me tomorrow. One of my wife's sisters texted that due to the weather, where she lives they declared T&T would be moved to Friday night. How does a town do that? I'd still have my kids out tonight and ignore any tomorrow.
SinceThe70s
6-8 groups, maybe 20 kids total, all early on. My 11th grader was at a friends house not far away and said the doorbell was constant.. Looking forward to sampling the overflow at work tomorrow. Johnny Hammersticks
We got a fair turnout considering it was a downpour from 5:30 - 9:00. Probably 30-40.

Augie
I got maybe 300+ pieces of the good stuff. Rain and wind, and the doorbell ring twice. I’ll take left overs to the park tomorrow if the weather is decent enough for people to show up and appreciate. My wife will INSIST it get out of the house. Golden Goat
We were the only house on the block that had lights on and decorations. The little demons came by the truckload (no joke). 300 pieces of candy gone in two hours.
Augie
The bucket remains by the front door. It may be a little light on the M&M count since I last passed by. The Snickers are not too safe either, I’m noticing.......
The Jokeman
4 and they came as pairs so it felt like even less. I'd blame the weather but I'm guessing I'm in an older neighborhood as we didn't have all that many last year either. Which is fine by me as like that it's quiet after dark. Yet as a diabetic that extra candy in the house going to be tough to resist as adore chocolate. Edited November 1, 2019 by The Jokeman
Cripple Creek
I worked late, wife left a bowl out, big costco bag. Course when I got home there were 5 left. Might have been 2 kids or 100.
Ridgewaycynic2013
Rainy night here on a dead end street in a sparsely populated neighbourhood meant zero. Damn good sight since it looks like the son, daughter-in-law, and middle grandson turned the box of 100 treats into a box of 19 before the evening began. ? Gray Beard
Zero. I live in a village with houses close together, but my street is on a hillside. On my side of the street you have to climb a flight of stairs to get to the front door, so the kids don’t bother. Sometimes we we get a few kids from the neighborhood, but it was pouring rain yesterday evening so they didn’t bother. About a block away from us they get inundated because the ground is flat so no stairs are involved.
notwoz
Here in the Washington DC suburb of Herndon, we had eight kids. All from our street (a short cul-de-sac). That's a bit light, but not by much. Our weather was rainy and windy. Seems like neighborhood kids pass our street in favor of the busier streets nearby. The leftover candy goes into the trash this morning so that I'm not tempted to cause my blood sugar levels to rise to catastrophic proportions. We always buy candy so that we are prepared even though we rarely get trick or treaters. I used to take the leftover candy to work, and I would just put it on a counter in the office kitchenette. This year I don’t work anymore, but my child bride has a couple more years of work to go so she’ll bring it in. She teaches at a high school, so I don’t think she’ll have a problem getting rid of it. Gugny
We usually get at least 20-30. Last night, we got about 7-8. That means that I won't need to buy much, if any, candy next year. it also means that next year's trick or treaters will be getting year-old candy.

Buffalo_Gal
30. I was shocked there were so many as it was raining hard. The rest of the candy is going to the nursing home. The last thing I need is a box of Platters chocolate suckers sitting on the dining room table. That will be eaten quickly (by me) if not given away asap. Seasons1992
I took my kid out for about a 1/2 hour. Winds were 25mph, temps felt like 25. He was done. Good thing his neighborhood was RIFE with kids and houses handing out candy. His pumpkin was half-full (a year's worth of candy) in that time. Augie
Our neighborhood in Florida had Halloween for kids AND adults. We had golf carts for 36 holes, plus they would bring in additional truck loads of golf carts. HUNDREDS of golf carts bumper to bumper carrying people from house to house (they were big lots). You never knocked on a door. They would spend a month building a haunted house in the garage and set up “stations” in their driveways. One house might have Snickers bars, but the next might have a taco station and margaritas with a live band. It was AWESOME! At an appointed hour, the streets became deserted as everyone went to the clubhouse where they had a feast to go with DJ’s and costume contests. It was the best day of the year!!! And......... you never had to put a parka over your kids costume!
Nextmanup
I have distinct memories of being a trick or treater in WNY, and having to bulk up with a full winter jacket and what not b/c it was so freaking cold on Halloween night. Kind of ruined the costume concept b/c we had winter coats on over the costumes. LOL I live in a gated community in FL. The weather was gorgeous and we got the usual batch of small kids. Like 15 of them maybe.

Last year, I went inside for a bit and saw a car pulling up. So I started to make my way out and saw two teenage girls by the bowl, then one of them grabbing it and running toward the waiting car. I ran out and yelled, "hey!" They laughed, put it down and drove off. Since it was such a slow night last night, I was just telling kids to "take a handful." One kid (about 10) puts his bucket down and goes in with two hands grabbing a ridiculous amount of candy. I said, "come on .. one handful." He listened. Didn't thank me and gave me a dirty look as he walked away. Parents saw the whole thing go down and didn't say a word.
Punching Bag
We do not get a lot but there have been rare times when we seem to be flooded with kids so we never know how much to buy. My wife decided this year to just buy items we (she) like so she bought Mounds and Almond Joys. We got none and guessing it may be due to weather but it could have been lack of decorations; previous years we would have had Jack O'Lanterns and my Deadskin scarecrow but we are too busy this year. Out of about 75 houses full of old farts, only one has a kid high school age or younger. We have a service that does all the mow, blow and go landscape maintenance here. They usually bring all their kids in by the van-load and take home a haul! Some jerk must have complained because we got NONE of that traffic. On top of that it was cold and wet. The doorbell rang only twice, and I had enough candy for an orphanage! I took it to my mom’s retirement home today to get it out of the house. They were VERY thankful.
