I could see the bills doing this trade Actually. Beane won't give up a first though and so that's what the jets would want

They will be lucky to get a late third or fourth for him.  Six months ago, he was available as a free agent, for zero compensation.

I'd rather have Bell than Gordon but we don't even use our full complement of RBs now. Yeldon is inactive half the time and Singletary never touches the ball. I get that special teams are important but there's a point when it starts limiting your offense. That's why Perry plays and Yeldon sits.

It contradicts what their website says, plus the trade needs to be structured as post 6/1/20

Would it have to be structured post 6/1?  Overthcap has his dead cap hit for a trade pre 6/1 as 8,000,000- they would still save a lot of jack over the last three years of the contract.   I mean they essentially pay him his full contract to get 7 games out of him and sell his contract, I dont think thats a bad deal for them if they want him off the team.

Otherwise, I dont see them trading him in the division, and he is projected to have about 100 more total yards than Gore.  Essentially the Bills would be giving up a draft pick for a push on production.

If that's the comp then I can see them talking now. They will do anything that helps Josh Allen out more.

I'd sling a 5th for him if he'd be willing to restructure his contract to where it was in the 9 mill per range with an easy out after 2020 if it's not working. No way in Hades would I be paying him 13 mill at any point.

There’s only $13m in guarantees going forward.  That is a deal for a top 5 RB.  Jets already paid half of his guarantees.  You will have to pay Gordon more guaranteed money to re-sign him and he’s not as good as Bell.  Jets took most of the risk.  I’d give up a 2nd rounder for him.

As usual it depends on the return but if either team is willing to part with Bell or Gordon for a mid round pick I would do it - because either one makes our team better and Gore is on a one year deal and trending toward 200 carries which is too many for him.  I also think Singletary is a nice complement to either one.

Uh...yeah....look how he transformed the Jets!   No thanks to the $14m running backs.

This is hilarious.

I agree that Bell hasn't been stellar for the Jets, but there's only so much even he can do on a team trotting out a practically makeshift O line and a HC that apparently thinks running the ball is the way the devil gets inside you

Bell is better than Gordon and signed for the next 3 years with $13m in guarantees.  Gordon is gonna cost at least that much to re-sign.  Jets will get a 2nd rounder or better for Bell if they move him.  Chargers will be lucky to get more than 5th rounder for Gordon.

But Chiefs will beat everyone to the punch and we’ll end up trading a 7th rounded for the Chiefs 3rd string back.

Wow...he's only averaging 3.2 ypc.

Just as many of us predicted before the season, his patient style that worked so well in Pittsburgh is not working in NJ because there are no holes opening up. They have the worst OL in the league.

Absolutely. Jets will want a 1st for bell. May deal him for a second.

I can't believe that there will be much of a market for Bell, unless the JESTS eat almost all of the cap charge.  He has a very large cap number and is not a young guy.  I thought at the time that the reckless signing of Bell and Mosley, would end up poorly for them.  They would have been better served to sign more lower cost guys to fill more of their roster holes.  I also remember the national media gushing praise over the JESTS for these signings and speculating that they would be playoff contenders again.

I can't see Beane spending money and draft picks on Bell or Gordon.  It just seems inconsistent with his approach to things so far.

I'm glad that it's the JESTS and Miami that are floundering in roster purgatory and not our Bills.
