I really can't see any team having tremendous interest in this cancer. He's a loose cannon and he thinks he's above management.

This is the NFL, where rapists, killers, common criminals, and general sociopaths find refuge regularly.

I would not be surprised at all if 1 team takes a flyer on him, as he is a superior talent.

Ryan Leaf suggested he simply doesn't want to play the game anymore, and maybe AB himself doesn't really know it.

Leaf said he knows b/c he went through the same thing and behaved in exactly the same manner.

So it looks like AB got what he wanted.  At least according to Leaf.

I hope it’s as simple as that. But this self destructive path to get there is concerning.

Gruden is the biggest loser here. He took the side of Brown and has some serious egg on his face.

That's interesting.  Gruden's looked like a train wreck since he got there. When he was a broadcaster I thought he was entertaining but that his coaching career was hyped all out of proportion with reality. He deserves credit for the Super Bowl win, but no one ever called Mike Ditka a great coach, and he won a Super Bowl, too.

All in a great, bizarre tradition known as the Davis family Raiders.

https://www.tmz.com/2019/09/07/antonio-brown-raiders-release-fine-contract/

Key points:

" Here's what triggered the craziness. Late Friday night, the Raiders decided to fine Brown $215k for conduct detrimental to the team over an altercation with GM Mike Mayock on Sept. 4. The way the story goes ... Brown exploded on Mayock, allegedly threatening to sock him in the face while calling him a "cracker." Brown's outrage stemmed from a previous $15k fine for missing team workouts. "

" Brown reached out to reporter Jeff Darlington and complained the $215k fine voids nearly $30 million in guaranteed money from his Raiders' contract. This pissed him off enough to go on social media and ask to be released. "

"He's certainly drawing a line in the sand, telling Darlington, "No way I play after they took that and made my contract week to week."

I think he'll get signed within a week.  Likely teams will wait a day or two so not to find out in hindsight they were bidding against themselves, plus after tomorrow contract not guaranteed for season.  Will be a modest one year, prove it deal,  $10 mil and maybe $3 to $4 mil signing bonus.

Likely teams will check with the NFL first to find out if suspension is looming as that could slow things down.  Can the NFLPA represent an unsigned player?  That would be like asking them to represent me.

I can see teams being willing to take a chance on him, but he may not be willing to play for what they are willing to pay. Most of the sociopaths end up playing on short term deals first (see Incognito).

The video suggests he knows completely well that he might not play again and if he does he wants to do it on his terms fully. Which doesn’t play well in the nfl obviously

but i guess when you have F off money, I guess you can tell people to F off if you want

Pats open up against the Steelers, and I fully expect AB to be lined up against his old team.

I don't think that's gonna happen.

Point #1: If he's on a team's roster for week 1, as a vested vet his salary is guaranteed, unless there's explicit language to the contrary.  Since Brown's "line in the sand" asking for release is that Oak apparently said they were seeking to void his guarantee along with the $215,000 fine for screaming at Mayock, calling him a cracker, and threatening to punch him in the face, he can hardly agree to that latter without huge "loss of face"

Point #2: NE Offense is all about "Get In the Playbook".  Which takes more than 48 hrs.

Would it be as genius if the Bills sign him?

The genius in this mess is the team that signs him, and somehow finds a way to make him behave like a gentleman and simply play football on a high level.  That helps out all parties involved.

The situation in Oakland was a failure on all sides by all parties and no one wins there now.

Because he is a veteran I am sure they can. It might be an odd question for a UDFA who was never signed to anything, but he is a vested veteran who is clearly covered by the CBA I would think.

Oh, please. You'll be able to count the number of TBD people drooling over AB on the hand of a bad woodshop teacher

Yes, he'll go somewhere and yes, he may even be pretty good, but Bills fans are too smart to think a schittbag like AB is worth anything other than a front-row ticket to see the AB version of Living with the Kardashians.
