What is less well known is Beane (aka the Almighty Wizard) inserted a clause into the trade that if the Patriots cut him before week 1 the Bills don't just get a 6th round pick but the Patriots next 8 first round picks. True fact.

More likely is that we don't get the 6th round pick. But it was not reported as conditional

Not to just beat the Bills in 2019 but to beat Josh Allen or Sean McDermott every time he plays them. Every bit of information is useful to Belichick.  Bodine was never going to make the team, he wanted to know everything about Allen from his center

If that was the case why didn't he just wait until Bodine was cut?  He did not need to trade a draft pick for that info.

To ensure that he got him, any insight he can get on Allen is more useful than a 6th round pick.

Why would BB trade a pick when he could have just picked someone up after cut down day?

To ensure he gets his targeted player rather than depend on a player wanting to sign as a free agent or going unclaimed on waivers until it was the Pats*** turn to submit a claim.

GENIUS MOVE!!  Worth a 6th round pick. 5D Chess! Now if Beane did this he'd be a fool and an idiot. When Belichick does it his motives are beyond the comprehension of mere mortals like us. It must be GENIUS!

Do people actually think they got Bodine for intel?? Their center goes down, and they made a trade to get a guy who has started multiple seasons?? It didn’t work out. That’s it

Yes, some people do.  Bodine is like "Dude, they got rid of me because I couldn't remember the snap count".

LOL, BB has way of making you talk!

What's he going to tell them, Josh's hands aren't as soft or gentle as Brady's were....

Beane has done this a few times, remember the WR last year from the Browns?

How does that work? Any player knows the plays etc. for the team they left. Do they divulge it to the new team?

Yep, Bills are doing the same with Davis Webb. Sit down with coaches, go over concepts and schemes, & how the team is setup to react. Bodine sucks on the field, but he's probably pretty smart, hence why he was a 4 year starter in Cinny & we signed him to a multi-year deal. A lot of guys know the plays & what they are suppose to do, but physically can't. You ever play golf?

Belicheck may have been reading these forums. He just brought in Bodine to see for himself. He was probably bored.

He's also bored with just winning Super Bowls. This year he's going to tank the first 5 games just for the challenge, all while performing auto-erotic asphyxiation.

Yeah, after awhile there is a plateau...have to spice it up a little! One gets tired of winning all of the time.

Yes.  Furthermore, Bodine was a double-agent: McDermott and Bodine conspired to have him memorize fake play calls, Beane trades him to the Pats for a draft pick, Bodine feeds them the fake play book, and they cut him.  McBeane get a sixth round pick, and plant disinformation.

What's more, look for Bodine to clear waivers, then the Bills sign him again, and BAM!  The Bills now have all the Patriots blocking calls.

McBeane play this game at a whole 'nother level, man.  Bradychick are screwed, blued, and tattooed this season.

And yet he's out a 6th pick.

It's string theory chess, man.  Belichick's playing Settlers of Catan while everyone else is playing Chutes and Ladders.

1. The Pats will get this pick plus others back via their own trades and comp picks always do.

2. Funny how when teams trade for or sign our guys the response - see how much talent this team has and how great Beane is in bringing them in. Now guy gets cut and its see how smart Beane is for getting rid of the this guy. Cant have it both ways...guy was not good enough on our team or another team. If anything we kept him around way longer, after just a few weeks they saw he sucked.

This further confirms how bad the OL was last year.  40% of the starting 5 are out of the league ( both centers & RT), and the players who started at LG-Vlad, out; Teller traded for 2 lower round picks.

Oh, thinking with logic, huh?  Next, you're gonna tell me the Flat Earthers are all wrong.  I'm taking my tin foil hat and going home before you contradict any more of my deep-routed beliefs.
