Frez
Is anyone else concerned that our punters or field goal kicker is not up to Par going into this season? I remember last year Steven had his struggles towards the end and our punters the same. After watching last night's game I've seen more of the same. Its safe to say we could see a couple new faces week one in our kicking game.

CSBill
I thought Carter looks strong. Both can boom it in ideal conditions, consistency and the ability to place it when needed are the qualities that separate. Three more games to see.
Beast
They can cut Bojorkodork today for all I care. The guy sucks. But....no, I have no worries. Kicker is more than fine and if they need a punter I’m pretty sure a decent one will be cut this pre-season.
mikemac2001
It felt like house money just went up there in practice mode on the first one. Kind of lofted it with not a lot of power his XP looked fine
Ittakestime
There needs to be a legit kicking competition. Hauschka is doing the same crap that got him hated in Seattle. It's so strange with Hauschka, but he kicks like a high schooler way to many times. Kick the frickin ball, stop lofting it.
MAJBobby
Kicker is fine. Do you know how much rotation of holders can really affect the kicker punters there is a legit competition there. At the end of the day really won’t matter to much if we are actually scoring on drives like good teams do.
StHustle
Gotta relax on Hauschka geez it was his first in game kick in over 8 months. ONE bad kick and you are worried? Not even like he missed horribly. He doinked it. Sure it was a 30 whatever yarder but so what. Being concerned about that is silly. His kickoffs were great. Indy's best drive start after a Hauschka kickoff was the 25 on the opening kick. They started behind that for the two kicks following. Again, concerned about what??? As far as punting goes, Carter looked fully capable to do the job, but hey, small sample size as well. His hang time definitely has him winning the competition so far. If a better option becomes available at cut time then I trust Beane to make the move. All in all...slightly concerned about the punting game....not concerned AT ALL about the kicking game.

The guy ended last season making 6/11 field goals to come out in preseason and miss another gimme. This is not the first time in his career where he fell off a cliff.
GunnerBill
I am not worried about Haushka, yet. I do want to see him make some kicks in pre-season though for confidence if nothing else. The punter situation does concern me. I thought Bojo sucked last year when there were folks loving him. I still think he sucks. Carter is a maybe but I can see the Bills starting punter week 1 being a guy who is not currently on the team.

CLTbills
Kicker is fine. Yeah, he finished last year making 6/11.... He was also playing hurt. Kickers don't just forget how to kick. Much to do about nothing. He's fine.

He was house money before and after the Jets game he didnt play well at all. If you have evidence to the contrary then lets hear it. Otherwise it is just personal opinion. Just Joshin'
The team has improved so that Kicker is the biggest concern. .....and no, not concerned after 1 preseason game.
Rc2catch
It won’t matter too much if the offense scores touchdowns. I’m glass half full we won’t see a million 3 and outs and lame duck punts and having to settle for field goals instead of touchdowns in the red zone all the time. If the game is on the line I’m taking Haush over 85% of the kickers in the league. The punt game is a little trickier and I’m not sure this seasons punter is currently on the roster

DCbillsfan
No concern on kicker or punter. Hausch is reliable and Carter punted twice with 2 fair catches. One was a 51 yarder and the other was caught inside the Colts 10. Hard to beat that performance.

Buffalo Junction
I’m not worried about Hauschka. At least not at this point. Rotating holders isn’t doing him any favors since it screws with his timing. Punter though..... ?♂️
JustWinPlease
I say we go get this kid...he can kick and punt, and he's only 25 years old. Quote Vedvik connected on 4-of-4 field-goal attempts, including a 55-yard boot, in Thursday's blowout, a 29-0 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 25-year-old also nailed two PATs, and added two punts that averaged 55.5 yards. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001040434/article/ravens-kicker-kaare-vedvik-ignoring-buzz-of-trade-talk

I’ve always wondered how valuable a kicker would be who can kick and punt. Save a roster spot for another player. Can always just have the backup QB hold on kicks.

(I feel the same way about long snappers too...find an offensive lineman who can long snap and play on the offensive line.)

No reason to be concerned at this time imo. 2 hours ago, JustWinPlease said: I say we go get this kid...he can kick and punt, and he's only 25 years old. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001040434/article/ravens-kicker-kaare-vedvik-ignoring-buzz-of-trade-talk Im not concerned about the kicking game just yet but you upgrade whenever you can and the deal makes sense. Ranked 2nd in the nation last year in 50+ makes and nailed 80% overall,, and no domes in the crappy midwest weather. So if he does well in preseason here, he may get a crack in the League elsewhere (assuming Hausch gets his mojo back).

You...don't believe that there's a connection between Hauschka making 18/20 FGs prior to the hit from Henry Anderson, and then making only 4/8 (while leaving 2 sub-50-yard attempts short) after that hit? Well, that's interesting to say the least. As to the OP, yes, I'm concerned about the entirety of the kicking game.
