Ogbah a no-show at Browns' Offseason program: Trade Imminent? Duke Johnson also a no-show!

Recommended Posts

We do need a defensive end.

1.35 mill - so very reasonable salary and that too is not guaranteed. Natural fit for a 4-3 defense - can line up at either end -  he is quick enough to handle left tackles and large enough to hold right tackles at bay.

Only problem is that he is a bit inconsistent.

I think a 5th or lower draft pick should do it - will be a Ragland like trade.

Also what about Duke Johnson at RB? He averaged 5 yards an attempt in limited opportunities and is on the outside looking in after the Kareem hunt signing. Our Rb situation (with the oldies) is quite attractive to people looking for playing time.

Is he honestly any better than Shaq, Trent or Hughes?  Maybe he is a bit more talented, though untapped.  Wouldn't we be better off just drafting a guy rather than throwing the pics away.

Well we need some depth on the DL. And I think he is a better pass rusher than Lawson but has a poorer motor. That is why he is inconsistent. But in a contract year, he will be plenty motivated.

To the Chiefs:

makes sense as they will need 4-3 DE in new defense.  Wonder where KC plays Chris Jones now?  maybe 3T?  Tillery from ND has very similar build/skill set to Jones.

I can't see them moving Jones.  His 15.5 sacks say you don't do anything different based on Ogbah.

Why the Duke Johnson love affair?  I’d take him off their hands if they wanted to give US a draft pick.  3 mill, 5 mill 6 mill cap hits.  He’s a decent player but he’s a RB that’s getting paid.  Not thanks.

i wasn’t an ogbah guy when he was available.  Glad we didn’t draft him then.  Low upside imo.  Similar to what we have.  If give up a 6th most

Good.

Spags will be switching them to 4-3.  Ragland likely out of a job again as poor fit in 4-3 at MLB and Jones is likely 3T DT.

On passing downs Jones rushed from interior spot as DT in old Chiefs D.

I realize they are switching defense and my point was that Ogbah's acquisition doesn't factor in to the decision as to where they play Jones in the defense.

...if you put Shaq in the conversation, you have to consider his 5th year option decision due in May at $10+ mil as a 1st rounder.....don't think it is an impediment with Ogbah kid......may have to have a modest extension in place before pulling the trigger on a trade unless you keep Shaq on his option number......or decline and let Shaq test the market and you could get him back as I doubt there will be any megabucks suitors (probably wrong...crazy money exists)...

Bam: Trade me:

NFL trade rumors: Here’s an Eagles deal for Browns’ Duke Johnson that makes some sense

Updated 2:52 PM; Today 2:35 PM-NJ.com

The Eagles have already traded for one running back.

Perhaps they might pursue another.

Last week, the Eagles acquired Jordan Howard from the Chicago Bears in exchange for a 2020 conditional sixth-round pick. It didn’t come entirely as a surprise, as the Eagles had been tied to two running backs in particular in the trade market since the official start of the offseason in March.

Taking all of that into consideration, here’s one swap involving Johnson that I think makes some sense.

Eagles get: RB Duke Johnson, Browns 2019 fifth-round pick (No. 170)

Browns get: RB Corey Clement, Eagles’ 2019 fifth-round pick (No. 163) and a 2020 seventh-round pick (via Buccaneers)

Trading for Duke would allow us to not take a RB in the top end to middle of draft......he is a young guy that can be groomed.

He is also very expensive for a RB on top of what they are paying Shady...

I’ll take the Day 3 rookie thanks.. plenty to choose from this year..

That and it's a position of need and he's been very productive.  He's a bit more than - I've heard of him and you should give some benefit of the doubt.

If I were the Bills...and had the cap space you all do...I'd totally be all over Duke as a trade target....If KC had any room...I'd want him in KC.

Well....seeing as how we appear to be biulding our team much like the bears then why not us?

I wouldn’t mind it but I just meant he would fit their offense. He’s almost more of a slot receiver than a RB
