SlimShady'sSpaceForce
sorry if duplicated (I'm sure it is) Josh Allen, LeSean McCoy helped lead Frank Gore to Buffalo https://sports.yahoo.com/josh-allen-lesean-mccoy-helped-105355687.html He said he also liked how quarterback Josh Allen was progressing and a sales pitch from running back LeSean McCoy sealed the deal. “I was thinking about how we played them last year when I was with Miami, they had a tough, tough defense,” Gore said on NFL Network, via the team’s website. “I just saw their quarterback and he kept getting better and better as the year went on and my man Shady. I’ve known him since he came to the NFL and we were together on Saturday and said, ‘You should come, I want to compete with you, and I know you will help me get back to home again.'”

Once you know what to expect from the best, you can teach/direct new guys coming in. That’s a great point. I expect the Bills to get a young “RB of the future” in this draft. He’ll get limited action early, but who better to teach the right way to do things than a future HOF RB?
junior
Solid article about the overall FA plan, as well as info about Gore specifically: https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/the-big-picture-with-bills--aggressive-free-agent-haul I highly suggest those who are on the fence re: how to feel about this signing to read it. For those who have already decided they hate it, go ahead and skip over this.

On top of that he is coming off a pretty great season. He can block. Hes an all pro, hes got enough speed and shiftyness to break them when combined with how hard he is to take down. Whats not to love? We are cutting someone though its not possible ivory and mccoy both stay so im guessing ivory is packing. We def draft a RB mid to late I also wonder if Gore could displace DiMarco. Do the Bills need a FB with Gore in the backfield?

I don’t disagree with you in principle, but the Steelers did take a pretty big step back offensively without Bell. They lost 106 carries and 318 yards on the ground and 30 catches and 168 yards in the air going from Bell to Connors. The short TDs were there for Connors though. I think Bell’s antics lead us to forget just how good he was in that Steelers offense.
Logic
I don't know how anyone can watch the video of Gore with his Bills helmet on from today, walking down the hall at One Bills Drive, looking ready to play right now if they asked him, and NOT be fired up about this signing. "I become a different person when I put on this helmet". As Beane said, dude is intense. No other way to make it to age 36 at the running back position and still be so good. Intensity, love of the game, dedication. He'll be a fan favorite in no time. Edited March 15, 2019 by Logic 1

MAJBobby
image: http://walterfootball.com/images/fball/billsb_logo.gif Bills sign RB Frank Gore (1 year, $2.5 million): A- Grade One of the several things the Bills should focus on this offseason is finding a potential successor for LeSean McCoy. Frank Gore obviously isn't it... or is he? The way Gore has been playing well into his mid-30s, you can't count anything out! In all seriousness, this seems like a very good signing. It's cheap and comes with no risk, and it also fills a need. McCoy was frequently injured last year, and he wasn't even that effective when he was on the field, averaging a meager 3.2 yards per carry. Gore, on the other hand, did well for a 35-year-old in 2018, averaging 4.6 yards per clip. I know YPC numbers are often misleading, but Gore was solid for a Miami team that didn't have the best offensive line. He can be a capable insurance policy for McCoy at a cheap price. Bell was out all of last year and the Steelers running game didn't miss a beat. This is true. Potent offensive lines can certainly distort analysis of a running back, and his kill you with patience style of attack was certainly elevated by the likes of Pouncey, DeCastro, and company. Even so, I still don't think you can argue he's at a bare minimum a top-ten back, which no other team in the AFC could argue at this point, given Shady's apparent decline. I'd like to see Shady behind a much improved offensive line this year before I start declaring that he has slowed down AT ALL. I predict that the combination of improved blocking, John Brown and Foster keeping defenses honest, a chip on Shady's shoulder after his worst year as a pro, and the added motivation of his buddy Gore being in town, will all add up to an awesome year from LeSean McCoy. I don't think he's lost a step at all. Time will tell! 1
