At his age, being retired for a year, and now coming back? Can he be near his old form? Or is this a somewhat selfish move on his part, and an even bigger blunder on the Cowgirls' part? Baffling.... Alphadawg7
Yikes...great guy, great player...but I don't if I would come back if I was him. I just cant see this being a good move given age and spending a year away from the game. I think the adjustment to get back to the physicality of the sport is going to be greater than he realizes on his elder body now. Gugny
I wonder if MNF told him he wouldn't be coming back. The only two people - ever - I've heard do a worse job are Rex Ryan and Beth Mowin. Witten was historically bad and I hope he never goes back.

Kelly the Dog
Espn probably told Jerry Jones, "Hey, Jer, we'll pay you $13 million to take this dude back and put him on the field and keep him off the air." 3

whatdrought
This is cringeworthy. You don't go back to a career you're too old for because you sucked at your other career. This is Brett Favre level bad, (and I doubt Witten performs even as well as Favre did in his return(s))

I think that got exaggerated a bit. The MNF broadcast, in general, has declined, but to me, Witten was just another mediocre ex-jock, maybe trying a little too hard at times...but he was hardly the worst. dpberr
Heart over brain here. I'm not sure I'd want another season of brain rattling at age 37 with a body that hasn't taken a ht in a while. It’s a shame he needs the money so much that he can’t muster up the integrity to turn it down. He retired for a reason. He’s lost it. But if Jones is too stupid, who am I to disagree. 1 minute ago, Formerly Allan in MD said: Apparently Dallas doesn't agree with you and apparently could care less about his ego, that's presuming professional athletes even have egos.?
