Holy crap! At his age, being retired for a year, and now coming back? Can he be near his old form? Or is this a somewhat selfish move on his part, and an even bigger blunder on the Cowgirls' part? Baffling....

Yikes...great guy, great player...but I don't if I would come back if I was him.

I just cant see this being a good move given age and spending a year away from the game.  I think the adjustment to get back to the physicality of the sport is going to be greater than he realizes on his elder body now.

I wonder if MNF told him he wouldn't be coming back.

The only two people - ever - I've heard do a worse job are Rex Ryan and Beth Mowin.  Witten was historically bad and I hope he never goes back.

Espn probably told Jerry Jones, "Hey, Jer, we'll pay you $13 million to take this dude back and put him on the field and keep him off the air."

The NFL sweetened the pot by offering Jerrah... $20 million in a cap space bump to take him back....as good as Romo is in the booth, his buddy is that bad...

Thank goodness he won’t be on MNF anymore

Was he really that bad on MNF?  I think that got exaggerated a bit.  The MNF broadcast, in general, has declined, but to me, Witten was just another mediocre ex-jock, maybe trying a little too hard at times...but he was hardly the worst.

Mostly because he’s washed up and will be taking reps away from a young prospect just to satisfy his ego.

Jones reportedly had been begging him and is the one that made the $5m offer. Witten had turned it down before but just accepted. Jones had to want him back before he could choose to do so.

I stand corrected.

It’s a shame he needs the money so much that he can’t muster up the integrity to turn it down. He retired for a reason. He’s lost it. But if Jones is too stupid,  who am I to disagree.

Apparently Dallas doesn't agree with you and apparently could care less about his ego, that's presuming professional athletes even have egos.?

You’re right. Pro athletes are the least egotistical professionals outside of bee keepers and librarians.
