Browns have more talent then most of the league in all honestly but one of the objectively worst coaches in the league

A good coach and weak-ish division matters more I think we will win more and place higher in our division than the browns would comparatively

"more talent than most of the league"

are people having an acid flashback, more so than normal for pre-regular season football...

All you have to do is look at their offense

Top 3 WR + Jarvis Laundry

Njoku, Hyde, potentially Dez, and a great receiving back

Tyrod will not take full advantage of this but still...

They flipped their offense like we flipped our secondary last year and could objectively be a good team given the fact that their defense was top 15 the year before

At this point, my guess is that Allen is 1 win better than Peterman.

Good Lord, I hope this is wrong.  Allen is only one win better than last year's 5th round pick, who has about 60 minutes of NFL game experience, during which he mostly looked completely lost?  Seriously?

I think it’s the Browns. They have a more talented roster and a LOT more depth.

Honest and pretty solid thought process. I agree. However if I'm guessing which team wins more games over the next 5 years...my bet would be Buffalo.

The Browns also have some very good offensive linemen; they have invested heavily in this area.  Last year they suffered from historically bad quarterbacking and the 32nd best coaching in the league.  This year, the quarterbacking should be at least average and their young talent is going to start to show.  I give them a shot at a wild card berth.

Peterman has looked pretty good so far this preseason, despite his draft status or last years play.

It's a new year, and where you were drafted no longer matters. If we can e v a l Josh on this preseason, so can we with Nate.

Based on what you guys have seen who wins more games this year? Bills or Browns?

I would say Buffalo. But why are we comparing these 2 teams?  How about Bills/Dolphins or Bills/Jests?

It's been a combined 46 years since either team won a playoff game!

Holy hell.

And the Browns backed into the playoffs in 2002, therefore that apparently (at least from what I have read on this board) doesn't count.  So they really should have held the longest playoff drought instead of the Bills the past 19 or whatever years!!!

I could be mistaken, but I think if the Bengals don't win a playoff game this year it will make 30 years since they won one...

They haven't won in 27 years.

Last victory 1/6/91 vs. Houston Oilers.

Browns defense was certainly part of why the Bills o line looked putrid.

TT is like years better than anything they trotted out last year.

They are a lock to win at least 7 games, may be a wild card.

Bills are a toss up and it’s all about josh Allen being able to start and LeSean McCoy running behind this new line. If those two don’t work out, the bills are in for a historically bad offense this season

I think hue + Tyrod prevents them from playoffs but I wouldn't be surprised to see them tie or eclipse either the ravens or bengals in wins

Not with that QB and coaches they are not

Bills offense will be fine no matter who the QB as all 3 of them are better than who was here last year.

if only that were actually true. We know one for sure is not, and the other two have done literally nothing in their careers to prove that - zero.

It is

2799 and 14 isn't setting a real high bar especially for a 7 year vet with 43 starts under his belt.

It’s not a high bar at all. Which only furthers my point that outside of Allen neither of these other two scrubs will achieve it in their..... entire....career.

McCarron has started 4 games in his NFL career and has 1132 yards and 7 TDs.

Yeah I don't think he would have a hard time surpassing Tyrods 2017 passing numbers.

I'm going with Buffalo. Do I bet on a team that has to completely turn it around or a team on the verge of greatness? I can't be serious about this situation.

This is pretty close to how I feel. I have Cleveland pegged for 6-8 and Buffalo for 4-7, so there's some overlap where Buffalo could end up with more wins, but I'd lean towards Cleveland personally.

Lots of bets on the Browns in Vegas

Posted by Michael David Smith on August 21, 2018, 11:54 AM EDT

The Browns have been the worst team in the NFL two years in a row, but that doesn’t mean no one will put money on them this year.

In fact, Las Vegas sports books are seeing a steady stream of bets on the Browns to get to the Super Bowl.

“There are more bets on the Browns to win the AFC North than the other three teams combined,” a sportsbook manager for Caesars Palace told ESPN. “Only the Raiders and Steelers have more bets to win the AFC [than the Browns]. The public likes the Browns, and I’m not sure why.”

Yep. That put them in the divisional round “ Bo Jackson hip injury” game at LA Raiders. A week before the Bills first Super Bowl berth. Damn that was a long time ago. Of course, our Bills last playoff win was vs MIA in 1995.
