Yea I agree. We have signed some pretty impressive players.

WR, Robert Foster, Alabama is the most impressive and signing the OL from Iowa, Ike Boettger is impressive also coming off a torn Achilles last year. Could be a good find.

Boettger is interesting. Former quarterback who was recruited as a tight end and has played guard and tackle,

Not really. Chances are, this guy has a chance. Even if it's 1% he has a chance. Peterman has no chance.. 0%. There are some guys that cannot play in regular season NFL games because of their arm. To me, Peterman is one of those guys. I said it before the Chargers game and it was evident in that game. It was even evident in the final game.

Just specualtion. Nobody actually knows.

I honestly don't think we will sign too many more rookies.  McDermott likes his experienced players too and there are plenty left in FA.  Leave a little room for flexibility over the next few months.

Part of the consideration is cost.  Veterans will cost you the vet minimum, whatever that is, and can count against your salary cap.  UDFAs cost you a little bit of nothing.

Shippensburg is a Division 2 program in Centralish Pennsylvania. Known for having big time offenses. Is he good, or a product of the vaunted Shippensburg offensive system ?

hey, there is another smallish school in PA that produced a great NFL Player.  Kutztown State's Andre Reed!

The kid started one game. A game in which the only receiver anyone has ever heard of was injured on the very first play and two scrubs let balls bounce off their hands and turn into picks. My confidence would be shot too. Before getting hurt, he was holding his own in that blizzard against Indy too. Peterman's a smart and athletic kid. I'd bet he'll have a chance to be in this league for a long time before I'd bet that he's one and done.

Interesting highlight film.  He's putting his whole body into his throws but his feet always seem to be in the right place.  Look at that throw at 4:27.  He knows he's about to get clobbered and he stands in and delivers.  And he's got some wheels.  One thing stood out to me - his WR are almost casual about catching the ball, wouldn't you say?  They are very confident that ball will show up where and when they expect it to.  Hold their hands out and plink! catch.

Good initiative on the kid, too, working himself into PSU's pro day.  Interesting guy.

Interesting throwing motion.  Reminds me of Philip Rivers with that torquing of his upper body when he throws.  Gotta keep his feet planted though, almost looks like a pitcher more than a QB.

kid seems like a baller.

4.33.   Did he return kicks?  Will be nice to have a speed CB go up against our speed WR's in practice at the very least!

I love how this FO is constructing this team.

Oklahoma State transfer. Played almost exclusively on ST units his freshman/sophomore years before moving on.

From his old OSU bio - "As a junior, named return specialist of the year in District 18-5A". Was also a 2015 1st team Academic All-Big 12.

I saw the whole game live as well as the tape of it and saw all five and know how and why.

Take it for what it’s worth, but the team has been talking up Peterman. And most of it has been unsolicited.  I wouldn’t count him out for the starting quarterback spot while they wait for Allen to develop.

It's worth very little.  The most concerning aspect of the 5-int game was that on a number of those throws (and I believe a 6th int was dropped), he just heaved it up for grabs because he lacked the arm strength to make a precision pass.  He'll be out of the league in a year or two.

Did Darren Carrington (WR, Utah) surface anywhere yet? Surprised he was not drafted.

Read this....... "The Utes’ leading receiver this past season, Darren Carrington II, had not signed as a free agent as of Sunday evening. Carrington played through a foot injury the final month of the regular season and the bowl game. That injury hampered his pre-draft workouts, including the NFL Combine".

They talk up everyone. Saturday they talked up Jordan Mills. Peterman is going to be released, not picked up, and then put on the practice squad. The only fly in that ointment is that he can look good in practice situations, and in preseason when the game is only 3/4 speed. He didn't even look all that good last year in preseason, despite what multitudes here were claiming, as he completed 54% and had one TD and threw a bunch of terrible passes.

The good thing about that is AJ will shine in that scenario, and clearly outshine Peterman. We can only hope that Josh's smarts show that he picks up the offense quickly enough to let him pass AJ before the first game. I'd say that is at least a 50-50 proposition.

Didn’t know about the injury, but DC definitely has NFL talent, although he’s a bit of a knucklehead.  Should be signed soon.

Sure. I'm not particularly anti-Peterman. Was just responding to the poster who said he hadn't thrown any passes in the Chargers game (I think he was mixing up which was the 5 int game.)

That being said, I think I agree with Kelly the Dog that a lot of his troubles seem to come from lack of arm strength. I was quite interested to watch him play, but I can't say I ended the year feeling at all optimistic that he was going to stick in the league.

The picks weren't because of a lack of arm strength, except for arguably the 4th one (the 10-yard out, which I've seen strong-armed QB's do, if they telegraph it, like he did).  The others were a deflection, throwing off his back foot in the face of pressure, getting hit while he threw it, and a bad pass/miscommunication.

Look, I jumped off his bandwagon after that game and Allen is now the guy I want to see succeed.  But Peterman's been working on his arm strength and AJM doesn't have a howitzer either.  All I'm saying is that don't pen AJM in as the starter.

We'll see.  All I care about is that someone becomes the Bills' franchise QB, and ideally (now) Allen.

I'll just go ahead and say somebody named McDermott thinks you are wrong.

So there's that. But I'm sure once the HC stops and has a chance to consult with you, he'll immediately change his mind.

The HC made the decision to start Peterman, BENCHED him at halftime, and then told his team and the general public that it was a big mistake. And the offense regressed. And he is a defensive coach.

Exactly.

The head coach made the decision to start Peterman. And based on that, YOU have made the decision he's not as good as DII QB after you've spent 5 minutes watching a highlight film from Shippensburg State.

Whatever. HC went out of his way to compliment NP after the season; heck AFTER THE GD SD GAME he wasn't sure that he wouldn't start him again. It's not like he said get away from me you loser. Then in the last season of the year - hey, he could have gone with Webb. He hadn't seen Webb play, maybe he would have wanted to find out about the guy. No. He went with Peterman.

Please. Stop it. Nate had a bad game against a superior opponent, on the road, and the OL had their worst day of the year. Put away the torch.

He was bad long before the game, right before the game, especially during the game, and after the game. Coaches rarely acknowledge they made a dumbass move and ours all but apologized to his team for being a dumbass and starting NP.
