I'm confused as to why people think this means Hughes is out?

I think it because with Zo switching back to Defensive End they currently have 7 or 8 Defensive Ends on the Roster.   With Murphy getting 7million I think it makes Hughes expendable at 10.4.  But you never really know do you?

Didn't he have a PED suspension?  Or am I thinking of someone else?

We're gonna rip on a guy for having a pedicure, bandit?   Please, it's 2018.

kidding aside, I do hope you are thinking about someone else, but even if it is the case I am glad this front office is not painting itself into any corners with a company line.

Hard for some to believe, but you can still be a good football player and even a good guy even if you have some issues.

Way to much money for Murphy.Between him and Kyle..that's 13 million. Not good.

Like I said, this likely means someone else is on their way out.

There were rumours recently we were trying to trade Shaq Lawson. My guess is his gone in a day or two.

got caught with PED's in the past.....missed entire last season due to injury....boy am i excited (sarcasm)

My son, a big Redskins fan, just sent me a message: "He's a bum and is always getting busted for steroids or getting injured."  I assume Beane knows what he's doing on this one.

Perhaps the Bills have decided to not spend money on what's left of the FA quarterback crop and will draft two quarterbacks, another Redskins thing.  To those who say it will take two first round picks to move way up, why not have one of them be next year's first?

Murphy is 1 nice thing, who is the other you are talking about?  It cant be mr. invisible until I get a stupid penalty JH55 can it?

Yep, the same guy who had 6 total penalties last season. And Shaq while we're at it. We need to go into the season with more than 1 or 2 serviceable DEs. 3 is more than 2.

It's not rocket surgery.

Our Linebacker group still looks terribly ugly.

It's hard to believe that LB hasn't become a bigger priority over the last two offseasons, considering Sean McDermott's history as a Defensive Coordinator.

I think Mc'Beans identified LBs in the draft they really like, and thats why they have not gone after FA's

This sounds like a Bryce Paup type signing.

Yes, I think that's a good comparison.   He can slide into an OLB role or move up and rush from DE.    Good positional flexibility...

Besides the 6 penalties, what else did he do?  Just out of curiosity.

Scouting Report: He’s a blue collar player, with a good motor. Murphy is relentless in pursuit. What he lacks in athleticism he makes up for in effort. He brings his lunch pail to work everyday. He’s a smart player that is the 1st guy in and the last to leave.

He has a lot of personality too.     He could be the King of Buffalo if he has success on the field...

Lots of pressures, decent amount of stuffs. Bills even said a big reason for the Lotulelei signing was that QBs were able to step up in pocket and avoid our pass rush.

Dont act like Jerry sucks. He doesnt. We've all seen him play. Save your crying over a couple of (bad call) penalties for someone else.

Well, without the acting:  JERRY SUCKS!  THere ya go my friend.  But I respect your opinion. To each their own. Cheers!

I'm curious about the money, especially with him coming off an injury. Supposing that it's reasonable, I think it bolsters a weaker position.

I'd prefer that we will in the positions you mentioned as well. Assuming we use both of our 1sts to get our QB., at least one of each in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, that doesn't leave a lot of gaping holes. I would use the 4th and 5th rounders to go DT and RB.

Royce Freeman in the 4th or 5th. Guy is a td machine.

The scouting report that you posted describes him perfectly. He is not a great athlete but he is maximum effort player that when the film is broken down shows that he played well and responsibly. When watching a game he doesn't draw much attention because he lacks the explosiveness and flash. Without question he is the type of people and players the wrestling coach wants on his roster. I'm ecstatic.

The D-Line is really starting to shape up.

This gives us a nice 3-man rotation with Hughes, Lawson and Murphy.

I would still like to see us draft another DT to eventually take Kyle's place.

I expect them to draft a DT, the Kyle clone, in the second.

I watched the hell out of him at Stanford, man he was a terror on QBs. Eff yes.

You and I saw him at Stanford's Pro Day!

I remember watching how fast he was and I just  thought that there was no way he could be an NFL DE, because he just wasn't big enough.

Sounds like Chris Kelsay reincarnated.

I don’t remember ever watching the guy play. I just assumed that scouting report would accurately describe him.
