He said Gettleman is definitely moving back unless they decide to take a QB. And wants Glenn. And had a great relationship with Beane. He foresees 21, 22 and Glenn where they take Guice and another OL.

If they want Glenn then just drop pick 96 from my original valuation. That trade would likely be 21, 22, 2019 1st, 2019 3rd, and Glenn.

Personally, I think we have too many needs that need to be addressed that we will need draft picks to do. That being said, it will be interesting to see what the Bills do in free agency. If they address a lot of those needs via free agency then I will have a feeling they are more likely to trade up in the draft

I'm actually worried that he is too mature.

He seems like he could make his money and without warning cash out of the NFL for other endeavors.

this is true.  he doesn't need football.  that definitely scares teams.  someone like Baker Mayfield would give his life on the football field.  Josh Rosen isn't going to jeopardize his health and his future over football.  It's just a game to him.  he is so good though, it's a tough call.  is he going to put in the work?

I'd be fine with it--Rosen is the best pure passer in the draft.

It'll be quite the hefty price to pay though, and I have my doubts as to whether or not the Giants would want to move down from 2.

This is my "two move" Eagles for Wentz style scenario.  If the Giants are willing to trade #2 it is because they think they can compete in 2018 with Eli. In that situation I think they want a high impact immediate starter - Chubb could be a fit, Barkley definitely is, Nelson would be an immediate upgrade to their biggest weakness too.  I doubt they want to go down to #21 even for the benefit of consecutive picks there.  So maybe the Bills trade up to Tampa's spot pre-draft or even to Denver's spot if they sign Cousins and then try and make a deal for #2?

I see the Colts as much more likely to be willing to trade back to #21 and #22.  They have a load of holes and are not likely to win in 2018 so are looking at a step this year and they could even pick a guy at #21 and then trade back from #22 and get another couple of picks to address their holes.

Too hard to say before FA but that could be. The thing is there is only one need that can be addressed in this draft and not FA or likely next year’s draft ... franchise QB

It has really been their biggest issue. If they could get Guice, Glenn and say Billy Price for pick #2 that’s not bad.

i remember all year hearing flowers played great on the right and couldn't handle the left. their defense gets back to form and eli with a line.

And then the 1st from the Bills next year which gives them another chance at a QB depending how the season goes with a rookie QB.

I see some talk that the Bills would have to trade up twice but I'm not buying that. There has to be some appeal to adding an additional piece instead of just one blue chip prospect. ..and then the Guice factor. Earliest I have seen him mocked was 28? What a fit that would be.

100% agree. And I don't think this is a deep draft where you are going to find long term answers to your needs all over the draft anyway.  To me 4 guys who could be long term pieces but none of them at QB is worse than 2 long term pieces one of whom is the future of the franchise at QB.  For those people who say "but what if the QB busts?" so be it.  Time to do the business or get off the pot.  No risk it, no biscuit.

It also doesn’t prevent them from drafting a QB if one falls to the second since they pick so high ... or trading up to the bottom of the 1st

McBeane has to take their guy this year if they have conviction on one. And trading up for a Qb, especially one like Rosen, doesn’t get you fired if it doesn’t work out. Trading up for a WR would, but not a QB that is so universally lauded.

He said he has heard repeatedly that the Bills are linked to Rosen. Last year they were so closely linked to Trubisky that Trubisky believed he was going to be a Buffalo Bill (but it was 100% Whaley and that was thwarted by McD).

He said they believe Rosen will get them back to the Jim Kelly era. He has been told McD is not at all turned off by his personality but some other teams are.

darnold at 1 to Browns

this is the best thing I've heard on this site in a long time.  Rosen is a real deal franchise QB at a fraction of the price of even someone like Case Keenum.  he's the only one in this draft that can start day 1.  if the Bills trade up for someone like him it shows they are taking the QB situation seriously for perhaps the first time ever in our history.  keep in mind, Jim Kelly was our 2nd pick in the draft.  we have never used our 1st pick on a QB (EJ we traded back) let alone traded UP to the top of the draft to get one.  it's a no brainer for me.  the majority of the successful franchise QB's are picks 1-5.  the Bills have absolutely refused to pull the trigger.  it's no wonder we have been stuck in QB purgatory

I would be thrilled and I could certainly see the Giants doing it. 21,22, 96, Glenn and next year’s 2nd for pick 2 and pick 130.

The Giants walk out of this draft with their LT, 2-3 starters and a top 50 pick next year.

The Bills would have Rosen and 2 more top 60 picks while keeping next year’s 1. They’d also have picks 117, 130, 149, & 157. This draft would give them their QB, presumably 2 starters (maybe something like Phillips and Malik Jefferson) and a bunch of depth guys. They can probably get their #2 RB (Freeman) a versatile OL (Clapp), WR (Chark) & another DL (Mata’afa)

Not gonna disagree with any of this but my real concern is how well he can play behind our line.

If he can get the ball out quick I'm not worried but plays that take time to develop will worry me with whomever we have at QB.

It was also interesting that he mentioned a lot of these deals are already done and not announced. He said tampering isn’t a real thing. Everyone is talking to everyone all the time (GM to GM, GM to agent) . Teams just can’t talk directly to players without approval.  I know some people know that already but just putting it out there.

If Giants are foregoing a QB with pick 2 I would think the Giants would be intrigued to trade out of that spot unless they see someone that they just have to have.

If The QB the Bills want is there at two, they need to do what needs be done to ensure they they get him.  If they don't, a team like the Cards, Jets or Broncos will make that move and Bills fans will watch the next franchise QB play for someone else, just like we will watch Mahomes and Watson and wonder what might have been.

I'm usually against a big trade up but screw it, I'll be very excited if this all comes to fruition. Personally I'd be happy with Darnold or Rosen at #2. We would have to spend money in free agency to make up for the lost picks but if Rosen becomes the franchise it won't matter.

Well really cant pull the deal right now if you are Bills. UNLESS they will be happy with either Rosen or Darnold. Otherwise cant get there now to have Browns take your guy.

So early who knows what happens in May.  Fa still will change alot of what happens.  Same guy says Buffalo is high on Foles.  So they trade for Foles and trade all the way up for Rosen too?  I find that highly unlikely.

It would be one or the other according to him.

the initial contract is peanuts compared to the 500 mil he might be able to make over his full career. then broadcasting. he's not making that anywhere else.

mic drop

I could see him earning a lot on his second contract and then bailing.  He thinks he can build Amazon 2.   Give him $100 Million and a pile of ambition and smarts, and he could be out of football in less than 10 years.  Maybe not, I don't know.  I also worry whether or not he may be distracted by other endeavors while he is playing and may not give 200% to NFL preparation.
