YoloinOhio
I mean he knows they wanted him out and were forced to keep him after that playoff win. He doesn’t want to work for them under those pretenses, I assume. Just now, Kirby Jackson said: They probably slept on it and were like “why the hell do we want to keep Mularky?” This too He’s not utilizing mariota to his strengths. That was the risk of winning that game, so to speak. They knew he wasn’t the right fit for Mariota. But they felt like they had to keep him. It will look bad in the short term if they don’t get back to the playoffs next year. But it’s best in the long term because they invested so much in mariota. Shurmur could definitely be in play. His son plays QB for Vanderbilt. Great luring tool for the Titans and Shurmur can be around his son and watch him play. Ittakestime
Mularkey is whatever, but if they think that Mariota isn't some star QB because of him, then the Titans organization is delusional. Mariota is a average QB and will always be an average QB. He will never be a top 10 passer in this league.

I thought it was Gregg Williams who complained that his family was harassed and even threatened. I thought Mularkey said he quit because he couldn't fill assistant coaching positions because assistants didn't want to sign on when the HC had only 1 year left on his contract. That made a lot of sense since Mularkey was Donahoe's guy, and not only was Donahoe out in Buffalo after 2005, he seemed to become a persona non grata throughout the NFL. Victory Formation
This is probably the best thing to ever happen to Mariota. A talent like Mariota deserves a 'real' coach. I don't care what anybody says, Marcus Mariota is a top shelf talent, he needs someone who can develop him.

Mariota is athletic, but he isn't a top end passer and doesn't see the whole field. He just doesn't do a good job anticipating what is going to happen. A good safety will eat Mariota up.
