The template against the Chiefs

Wizard

Recommended Posts

First, let's rip apart the Steel Curtain on Monday. Then, let's cook the Chefs. 🙂

For those that know the intricacies and nuisances of schemes and attacking a team's weakness, what is the template for the Chiefs?

I don't like them having two extra days of recovery and two more days of Coach Reid game planning.

We are the better team, but until they're knocked out, they are the Champs.

For me, the two biggest factors:

1.  1 turnover or less

2.  Control the Clock

Mahomes didn’t look good in the red zone when it was man to man with pressure. I was shocked how many fields goals they had to settle for.

Also the whole team drops passes worse than anyone one of our guys even Knox.

1) play with a lead

2) spy Mahomes a lot

3) don’t blitz every pass play and play cover 1 or 0 like the Miami stooges do

4) beat them in special teams— it seems like they always find 1 or 2 big plays out of their special teams in the playoffs

It’s not that deep .. we’re better than them.  Go out there and prove it.

1) Allen, limit the nonsense

2) McDermott, show us why you took over the defense

Score 21 points. Sounds simple but every team that has scored 21 has beaten  the Chiefs this year. Cheifs are 2-6 in games where the opponent has scored 20 points. 0-4 in games where teams have scored 21 on them

A lot of that was the cold today.  The ball is larger and very hard.  Difficult to catch.

They're going to have to game plan for both the Bills and Texans. They won't know their opponent until Monday night.

The Bills offense's ability to operate against KC's tight man coverage and various pressure looks is so essential. If the Bills can avoid early offensive struggles, they can control this contest.

Of course, defensively stopping the Pacheco and Edwards-Helaire combo and keeping eyes AND HANDS on Kelce is important, but I believe Josh and Co. have a chance to outpace an inconsistent Chiefs offense and alter the calculus of this matchup.

Are we really the better team? I think it's pretty close.

KC dominated the Dolphins. It was really never in doubt after half time.

Their defense is really good.

On offense they have an emerging WR and Kelce still is dangerous but seems to have lost a little. Pacheco runs hard.

Yes the Chiefs definitely struggled in the red zone.

If the Bills and Chiefs meet up next week it's gonna be a dog fight. Slight edge to the Bills due to being at home. Basically, flip a coin

You gotta get pressure on Mahomes with your front four. He just kills the blitz.

What makes you think we are better than them? Seriously, no joking here.

I don't think it works that way.

I'm not convinced that 21 points gets it done if the weather is decent.

How are ya'll feeling about playing KC if we beat the Steelers?

I feel good. It's a more than  winnable at home. Either way it sounds be a close competitive game.

I don't disagree but I can see the Bills offense struggling against that solid KC defense.

It's not like the Bills offense has been clicking on all cylinders.  In fact, the offense has played pretty poorly since the Cowboy game.

Spags seems to do well vs Buffalo. He will bring timely pressure and the Bills have struggled with that often; including during the winning streak.

Curious how you'd rate LBs?

Why is everyone just overlooking the Steelers? We have a game Monday and lets focus on that! They are not slouches. This is the playoffs and anything can happen!

We're not playing in the games, whatever we discuss cannot be constituted as "overlooking the Steelers".

Luckily for me, and the rest of Bills fans, my Wildcard round preparation and focus doesn't influence the team in ANY way.

I get to look ahead, behind, above, and below, without any impact on Monday's result. You should try it out.

I think the Chiefs lb core is better. Bolton is a stud, Gay is so so, and Tranquil is okay.

Buffalo only really has Bernard who has been great.

Player for player I give the Chiefs a slight edge.

My whole point is people making a blanket statement that the Bills are better than the Chiefs like it's a given.

Folks, go down the roster player for player coach by coach. I'm not convinced that the Bills are the better team. If so, it's by the slightest of margins.

Disagree with RB, OL and ST.

Allen is more volatile. Slight edge KC.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.  First we have to beat the Steelers. Second hopefully we come out healthy since will have a short week and they will have a long one.  I still don’t understand why the number 1 seeds get a bye and the number two seeds don’t get the two games on Saturday?

I think OL is pretty even. Chiefs better G-C-G but the Bills tackles are definitely better.

Sounds weird because Spencer Brown has been so bad in the past. The guy certainly stepped up his game. Not a lot of fans really have given him his flowers.

Gotta keep Mahomes contained in the pocket. No escaping for big first downs.

That is where he has hurt teams all season

Teams play Josh two deep with a spy.  We should sprinkle in that D on Mahomes
