Any discussion of the best route running that doesn't include this gem, is not to be taken seriously.

Have you ever seen the video of Diggs in practice running this route? He grunts so hard with each power stop helping him make these incredible cuts without breaking his OWN ankles!

greatest of all time is a hard call there are so many gifted Bills receivers past and present. But its the offseason so I will post my personal favorite. It happened in my end zone it was ELECTRIC.

The play I reference begins at the 8 minute mark. The replay is at 9:53.

I was at that game, sitting in that same end zone.

According to YouTube it is..

I don't know about greatest of all, but that was one hell of a route by Gabe and that particular play will be remembered for a good while. Gabe has quite a few great plays that sticks out, but this one here was most definitely a thing of beauty to see..

Thanks for that, Muppy! I remember it well. On top of the slick move by Rashad, the ankles being broken on that play belonged to hall-of-famer Willie Brown -- no mean feat!

Batavia Party Zone FTW back in the day.........back then the Marine Midland Bank in Batavia sold a block of tickets and they were in the scoreboard endzone. So that is where I watched a LOT of Bills games back then. I figured there were folks who would remember that game it was truly iconic @chris heff

What made it so great was the sell at the 1st down marker. DB was sure they would try to get

Of course, the DB thought he would go for the 1st down.  Going for the TD then would leave Patrick too much time.  😭

the 1st, not a TD.

What he's actually doing is trying to stack the cornerback

The cornerback is playing outside leverage with a path to break to the inside... Davis attacks him to create Ultimate leverage so he can stack him and get on top of him

He's attacking the corner back at the top of his route so he can stack and get leverage and he's so big and fast that he will make some corners look foolish

My hood friends would say "he got got".

Davis is really good at stacking receivers and getting leverage on them

With his size and speed he easily gets receivers off their spot and can stack very well in vertical routes

It almost looks like Gabe got the DB with a discreet elbow to help said DB to fall down.

Not to me. Looks to me Gabe just broke him down, shook him so good he went to the ground. DB was defending the sideline is why he got embarrassed so bad . With under 15 seconds left the CB was thinking the play was going to the sideline to get out of bounds immediately to stop clock.

Didn't pay as much attention to the inside as he did sideline. Guess the DB thought he had some S help just in case, but got burned

Ah, No.

But it was a damned fine route all the same.  "Yo Gabe!  Have mercy, that man's gotta eat!""

I believe Josh froze the safety - had Beasley or Diggs (or both) to the R

Bro, we be listening to Nelly all the time.

If so, then that confirms they are not from the "hood" LOL.

Fellas from the hood don't listen to Nelly, least not around other ppl lol. Nelly is what the suburban white girls would listen to a lot lol
