Rosenhaus has said he has a great relationship with Buffalo.

Plus I think if a player has played well and deserves a pay raise but it's not a bump the Bills can pay I think they do work with player to get best deal in a trade with no hard feelings and happy to help a deserving player.  So Poyer will get to decide if the deal he can get with Bills is acceptable or if he has to get what he can.  Either way Bills won't try to keep him f f om getting what he is worth.

Lewis Cine just visited OBD the other day. His scouting report reminds me of Poyer. It's possible safety is in the conversation at 25 as much as that would make certain Bills fans roll their eyes.

And they met with Kyle Hamilton and Joe B today speculated that they might try to trade up for him if he starts to slide.  Plus Poyer/his wife seem to agitate about his contract every offseason.  He just put in his best season as a pro and has one last shot to get big money.  None of this is surprising.

Is this your way of saying you don’t believe Knox is a top 10 tight end?

Are you saying he is?

Knox:

Receptions - 49 (18th)

Yards - 587 (15th)

Touchdowns - 9 (T-1st)

Yards / Reception - 12.0 (20th)

Deep Receptions - 5 (4th)

Deep Yards - 160 (T-3rd)

Poyer is probably looking for a little bump.

He caught a lot of TDs no doubt. Outside that he’s still an average blocker and imo not really a candidate for top 10 best tight end in the NFL. And that’s less a knock on him than indicative of the depth of talent at that position.

Re-signing Diggs likely means that one -- if not two -- of Knox, Edmunds, and Poyer will not be re-signed.

Given age and recent safety prospect visits, I'd list Poyer as the MOST likely not to be here in 2023.

I'm not commenting on that decision one way or the other. I love Jordan Poyer. Most underrated safety in the NFL. I'm just recognizing the reality that you can't pay everybody, and that a 32 year old safety seems like a logical choice to let walk after the season.

My order of importance of those 3 as of right now, is Knox, Poyer, Edmunds.

"Notable players Rosenhaus has represented or represents include Antonio Brown, Chad Johnson, Frank Gore, Rex Grossman, Rob Gronkowski, LeSean McCoy, Jimmy Smith, Plaxico Burress, Terrell Owens, Tyreek Hill, and Warren Sapp."

IIRC he had Johnny Manziel as well

It’s crazy though because Our two defensive captains are Poyer and Edmunds but we’re talking like both are gone.

I don’t really know what is going to happen with them. Realistically it seems like there’s not enough cap space to go around.

Truth.

Although, if Beane can’t meet the desired price he might choose to trade him before this season starts.

Think the Bills let his contract run out, hopefully with a super bowl victory. He’s a great player but for what I think he will want at his age I’d pass with all the other contracts coming up.

on a serious note, I think he’s in control of his own destiny in Buffalo.  I think that we’ll offer him around 11M a year, like Milano.  If he wants more, I’d expect him to play out the season and leave as a FA, with hopes of landing a comp pick.  I doubt any team would even trade a 3rd rd pick for him.

I like and agree with that.

I like it, I agree.

This will be the first time the Bills FO have thought one of their elites is on the decline or exceed the market value for age vs position.  It is interesting.  Regardless of how this plays out, I believe Poyer plays for the Bills this year.

The Bills have paid Poyer and both should have mutual respect and appreciation.  Poyer's wife is a different story.

Poyer will play this year and the Bills will compete for a SB, go Bills!

exaclty...free agent comp pick would aslo take the string out esp if we draft a replacement early rounds...Jacquan Johnson has been a backip all along to the point where he is also UFA after season, and Hamlin has another season to progress...

It doesn’t look like Poyer is going to wait a year.

Diggs, done. Knox, Davis, and Oliver next.

Bye, Edmunds and Poyer, and likely Hyde the year after.

First of all, I would like to apologize to everybody here. I bought a Poyer jersey last year. These things tend to happen when I buy a jersey.

To the bolded. I think Poyer and Hyde cover a lot of deficiencies for in our front 7. I get they are getting old, but I thought they both had another contract in them for sure. The Bills have not hit their front 7 picks out of the park by any means. Moving on from Poyer and Hyde could cause some issues.

Unpopular opinion, but the Diggs contract gets me worried about this stuff. Josh Allen's feelings aside, I am not sure having the highest paid WR/QB tandem in the NFL is a long term recipe for success.

Definitely agree w that assessment buffboyinATL.  Lets hope Edmunds gets moved on draft day.

Only if we have a viable replacement in mind.  Otherwise, it is all hands on deck for our Super Bowl run.  Trading Edmunds was more attractive to me when Bobby Wagner was available.

Poyer probably didn’t hit her with a prenup.

If he's not happy in Buffalo I'm pretty sure slot of it is because of the Mrs being so demanding.  Hope it doesn't cause him to relapse from his sobriety.  If he is truly underpaid  then let him seek a trade that he likes and with  tangible assets traded to Bills to move on to next man up.  It's not like the defense has played stellar in the playoffs and is why we went further than Josh could carry them.  He'll get paid what he's worth to Bills and if he needs more he'll have to get it elsewhere.  I like Poyer and will like him as a Bill or as an ex-Bill and hope he does well except against the Bills if that happens. Can't say I'll miss hearing about Rachel's Twitter rants if he gets traded.  Pretty sad that she almost tips the scales for trading poyer to be well worth it.

They won’t be paying the OL or RB much over the next 3 years. It all balances out.

Beane doesn’t believe in comp picks...we either need to trade guys before their contract is up, or we’re likely not gonna get anything in return, unfortunately....
