Jones played on a team full of superstars for arguably the best college coach in history, and is going to play for a perennial champion coached by arguably the greatest coach in NFL history. Time will tell I guess but whatever he's lacking in athleticism he makes up for in accuracy and good decision making. Sound like anyone we know? He has some big shoes to fill but my hot take is that he'll probably be considered the #2 QB from this draft in 5 years This is how I feel. Joe Burrow also had an explosive offense in college on a powerhouse SEC loaded w/ talent and he's coming along great. I think MJ will at the least be a very good game-manager w/ the ability to win you games on his own once in awhile. Tua, Hurts, McCarron < Mac Jones As a pure fan of football, I think this is very intriguing and it's good to know your enemy. I'm genuinely interested to see how this all plays out. I fully agree. Athleticism is nice, but it's not as if has a bad arm. It's certainly good enough, and he can make all the throws. This isn't Christian Ponder we're talking about. I feel like that's the unstated comp here and it's just wrong. Exactly. The SEC produces more NFL talent than every other division. We can make that same argument against Trevor Lawrence or Joe Burrow. Some Bills fans are getting a little too cocky. It's still Bellichick and it's still the Patriots. We won the division for the 1st time in 25 years. This year it's going to be a bit harder to take the crown. The Jets have no where to go but up and the same goes w/ the Patriots. I have no doubt in my mind that both teams will be much improved from last year and a big part of that will be of these QBs. 1

Success
What's nice about Jones is that he'll take time. Despite all of the "big moves" they made in FA, it will likely not amount to much for the '21 season - they'll either have Cam, who will be better w/ the new weapons but hardly scary, or a rookie QB who has really never been pressured by an opposing defense. Beyond that, they'll have to go through the same thing we went through w/ new QB's - you really have to invest 2-3 years, regardless. And if they don't pan out, it's wash, rinse, repeat. I was hoping they wouldn't get Garropolo, who could take much more advantage of their new additions if he stayed healthy, and certainly hoping that they wouldn't get Rogers, after yesterday's news. This is not true. He missed a would be touchdown yes, but he was not the reason why SF lost. Shannahan being Shanahan was the reason. He had the Chiefs on the ropes and spent too much time over thinking the situation after being up. Same thing he did as a offensive coordinator for the falcons when they were in the SB. 9 minutes ago, JMF2006 said: Its one thing to play on the best team in college football and throw to wide open receivers. Malazan
I don't like the chances for either one. I think Wilson is being extremely overrated, but that's not why I think either of them struggle. The AFC East is viper's nest for rookie QBs right now. A rookie is going to face 3 of 4 very good defensive minds (4 of 4 if you count going against them in camp and practice): Bill Belichick Sean McDermott Brian Flores Robert Saleh These guys have each had a top ten ranked defense within the last 4 years. Excluding Flores, they have each had a top 5 defense (Flores 6th). They all are good at creating confusion and sowing chaos. I don't think there's a worse division to be a rookie QB in as 6 games a year, you're facing one of the top defensive minds in football.
