GunnerBill
Fascinated by this hire. Am led to believe Scott Linehan is his first choice for OC and he was in on Dan Quinn for DC before he signed with Dallas. That is noteworthy because both Linehan and Dan Quinn were on Nick Saban's first staff in Miami. 2

And Pete Carroll was an NFL head coach before he was a college head coach. Urban is an excellent coach and believe me I am no fan of Urban the man. He is a leader and a CEO who will let everyone in Jacksonville know who is running the show. I think they needed that. He gets Trevor Lawrence too, so he has a chance to succeed. I am glad it isn't the Bills taking the risk but I am looking forward to seeing how this thing works.... or doesn't as the case may be.
Augie
If I’m one of the dozen Jags fans, I’m NOT excited by this. You can’t “out-recruit” because of the Jags name in the NFL. It’s the pros, new ballgame. He might be just fine, but how long is he going to last? His track record says not all that long before he’s retired again, for whatever reason. NEVER in a million years would I trade McD for Meyer. I feel like we have a real and long term solution. They have a short term big splash, IMO. 9 3

Bigvinny
Bills play in Jville next season. Easy 3 hour drive from SC. Saw a few Bills games there. The 1pm September games are brutally hot though.

I have no idea if it will work for Meyer... but I do like the hire. I think the Jags desperately needed a sheriff in town and Urban is gonna be that without question. If Trevor Lawrence is as good as we think he has every chance to make it work.

Will probably try and go again next year if it’s a good weekend. Stay over on the beach, eat some seafood & drink beer and catch an Uber over to the game. Solid weekend.
Mr. WEO
LOL Jags. Meyer comes from a planet where you can win multiple championships with Tim Tebow and the best QB. His Florida tenure was filled with arrested players and the infamous "Circle of Trust". Then he also disappeared with a bad case of agita.... He's a world class low life.

Perhaps none as great as George O'Leary Nick Saban is still hated by Dolphins fans. Others include Butch Davis in Cleveland, Steve Spurrier in Washington (although he was a success in the USFL prior to his college coaching stints), and back in the 1970s Bud Wilkinson with the St. Louis Cardinals. Some would add our boy Doug Marrone to the list. The only one who came out of college and succeeded that I can think of is Jimmy Johnson.
