Here are my thoughts on the Patriots based on this game - Newton is looking better than I expected but he isn't going to come anywhere close to his MVP season. Their offensive skill positions are as mediocre as I expected. Their defense is of course well coached but definitely missing all the players they lost. You can target their LBs in the run game and Gilmore has taken a step back. They will not be a gimme opponent but they're a lot more beatable than they have been in 20 years.
