Welcome to Brandon Beane’s home draft room

The IT guys sweeping the room are Ernie Adams nephews and they place the bugs. All part of the bigger scheme.

I’m sure @GunnerBill is ashamed that our team has to work in such meager conditions!     :)

EDIT: Wait! I don’t see the Kegerator! Can you properly do a draft without that?

My setup is almost identical @Augie.... honest :D

The bit I am more interested in is will he still wear a suit. I had to brief a cabinet minister on video conference earlier this week and I couldn't bring myself to put a suit on at home for a video call. I went open neck shirt instead.

This is f*#%!ing ridiculous. I thought groups of more than 10 were prohibited?  Why can’t Beane, McD, the other scouts sit at OBD and collaborate? They can sit 20 feet apart in that draft room from last year. This hits home how nonsensical this whole thing is. F&@$!, , take their temperatures when they walk in the room. Ridiculous.

As someone who knows multiple people who have lost people to the virus. I can say beyond any doubt, it is not ridiculous.

I thought the same thing too. A couple of adapters for a docking station and he could have 6 monitors no problem. I work from home normally and have 4 (3+ I keep my laptop open as another screen)

Draft night is usually a 4 screen scenario for me too. The TV has the live coverage, I have one laptop that just has my draftboard so I can record the guys coming off. I have another laptop I use to post on here and then my phone is buzzing almost constantly through the first round. Days 2 and 3 less activity on my phone tbh because most of my NFL fan friends are not draft nerds like me.

I think they looked at that as a possibility, problem being some states have a stay at home order. Can’t leave unless essential business. This is considered business that can be done remotely.

beyond this standardizing to a worst case scenario meant even if the lockdown got more restrictive they’d be prepared and the playing field level.

if was the right move to ensure the draft would go on.

Too busy with high level Zoom meetings

With the new tolerance of marijuana, 'high level' takes on multiple meanings.

The barn doors on the 2nd and 4th pics are on point, Beane, but that ceiling is so 1985. Gotta up your game, man!

Fortunately, without  a 1st round pic, there is yet still time enough to install a rough-sawn pine ceiling under that cheesy drop-tile one. Get er done, Beane!

OBL has a guest on yesterday or the day before who mentioned how the Bills were ahead of most others in preparing for this. If I recall correctly, they were planning on this two weeks before closures were announced and setting up their homes.

This leadership group is light years ahead of anything we’ve had in the last 20 years.

It is funny that all of these houses were upgraded in states with only "essential" people allowed to travel but they cannot travel to stadium where all of this work can be done with workmen appropriate distances apart.

It shows NFL cares more about appearance than the actual rules.

Every time I see that video of Gronkowski shoulder slamming Tre it pisses me off. I still cannot believe that Gronkowski was not suspended for at least 5 games.

I’m also expect a slap on the wrist for them video taping. Still waiting for that penalty to drop.

One of sons is a senior in HS... I saw some other GMs say they are using their kids for help to watch the players coming off the board. he might be too

Hopefully Beaners kid doesn't look like a complete smug faced douche nozzle like Belichicks evil spawn.

Beane's Round 1 keyboard...

And in the 'forgotten' Sabres colours as well...?

I wonder if for 'atmosphere', the NFL will pipe in that annoying keyboard clatter all radio commercials think we need to hear when even remotely mentioning computer operations.

Virtual draft was mandated by NFL to keep it as a level playing field for all teams. Could the bills have gone to OBD and taken the precautions of standing apart and wearing masks, probably, but that may not have been an option for every team so I think they just wanted it consistent across the league

Those extra chairs are for all the IT guys that will help support.

They're allowed in. IT guys know nothing about football.

One IT specialist is allowed in the decision-maker's home but he/she will not be in the draft room unless called in to address an issue.
