Somewhere along the line something happened. Either ego or legitimate mental issues . The problem is, when you get to his level everyone is a yes man. Nobody reigned him in and gave him a reality check or got him the help he needs. ........Also, playing devils advocate, its very hard to help someone who doesn't want help, especially in his stature. The failure to appreciate the peril...underestimating the totality of it all. Some guys can get away with it...he obviously cannot. Whether he realizes or not, he was probably better off in smaller market Pittsburgh. His facade cracked and the fall from grace began. Brown overestimated his ability to cope.
