Either player will have the same amount of NFL experience...... 1

He was on the same team as AJ Brown, the immortal DK Metcalf and a third decent WR Demarcus Lodge. Not a lot of receptions left after those 3. For sure, a pick based on athletic ability and potential - a projection, but has talent.

Mark92
I love how fans that don't know ***** about these players get all upset because of what the analysts say. Dawson Knox was a walk on QB that moved to TE. He was severely under used in college. He has great hands and his run after catch is really good. He's a 3rd round TE that is better than his stats show but also not TJ Hockenson. It's a good 3rd round pick. 3

He's a versatile TE, was backing up at QB, solid hands, never really got many looks when your WR is DK Metcalk, Demarcus Lodge and AJ Brown, that is alot of mouths to feed, the TE position was an after thought but he's athletic and a good blocker. He also averaged 18.9 yards per catch.

Real McClappy
I don't mind it at at all. Welcome to Buffalo Knox. Would have done Jace at TE followed by a RB though. akm0404
Since nobody (including me, tbh) has any idea who the heck this level of prospects are and have never watched a single snap they have played: Draft Projection Round 2 NFL Comparison Kyle Rudolph Overview Outstanding combination of measurables and traits, but he's much more moldable clay than game-ready prospect at this point. Knox lacks early speed and short-area quickness which could limit his ability to uncover underneath but he's much more dangerous when allowed to roam the middle of the field as a more linear route-worker. His pass-catching production may never matchup with the testing numbers, but his aggressiveness and talent as a run-blocker could provide him work as a combo tight end for years to come. Strengths Carries NFL-caliber frame along with him Workout freak-daddy with good explosion and speed numbers Flexible hips to sink and expedite his whip routes Tracks and adjusts to the throw Build-up speed is impressive Catches it away from his frame in space Competitive runner after catch Can make a tackler miss or hit them with some power Accurate, heavy hands at point of attack Strikes with leverage and churns feet looking to bury his man Punches with good extension in pass pro Gives good effort to stay in front of rusher. Weaknesses Workout testing doesn't manifest itself on tape often enough Pace can be a little sluggish underneath Route turns and breaks lack desired burst Never scored a touchdown in college Will get out-breaking routes jumped Has dealt with nagging injuries since high school Bad blocking reps usually involve lunging Needs to keep head back and see what he's striking

How do you know? New England traded away from their spot right behind us, so for all you/we know they wanted Knox & traded out of that pick once we got him 1st. By all accounts he was mocked to be chosen in the 3rd round, NFL.com had him projected for the 2nd round, so it seems fine to me.

Have you seen Alabama's passing distribution? here I will show you. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/pi/shareit/KYHLK see 4th on that list? that's a TE that put up 700+ rec yards. see 2 through 5? they all have around 40 receptions. see number 1? has 1300 receiving yards. there is no need to make excuses. he could be great, we will all wait and see! just stop making excuses for grown men. they don't need you to defend them.
