Beside being a turnstile in pass pro, what is so great about him? He was average at best in the running game, so what's the rush? Give him time to adjust before throwing him into the fold. I couldn't imagine him next to Groy trying to pass block, things would actually be worst... and that's hard to fathom.

Suppose I will drop this in here as well: "Pro Football Focus provided some stock to that assessment by the Bills’ coordinator. In particular, PFF graded both offensive guards, Vlad Ducasse and John Miller very high in their own regard. Per PFF, Ducasse is the NFL’s best pass-blocking guard through the first two weeks of the season with an overall grade of 91.3. He also had a team-high 88.3 pass-blocking grade against the Los Angeles Chargers during a 31-20 loss for the Bills. Miller finished Week 2 as the highest-rated Bills’ offensive player overall (pass and run blocking combined) with a score of 73.3. Between both Ducasse and Miller, the duo have only surrendered one quarterback pressure in the first two games of the season." https://billswire.usatoday.com/2018/09/18/buffalo-bills-vlad-ducasse-john-miller-brian-daboll-pff/

It's not a coincidence that we kept running left (with success) the second half of that game. Teller missed one pass blocking assignment that ended up in a sack and some folks are using that one play as evidence that he is no good. But, he was graded as the ACCs best pass blocking guard his last two seasons at Virginia Tech. (I'm admittedly biased on this matter since I'm a Tech season ticket holder!) Peterman was also excellent in preseason. It doesn't matter

Our 3rd down% was 2% better than the Chargers. Not sure why you would ask that question in this thread. Maybe I am reading your question wrong. His rawness is a concern for a line that is struggling to find cohesiveness. If they continue to struggle--and I think we all believe they will--then he'll likely get more reps and possibly a start in a few weeks...

UConn James
What’s the deal with Groy’s headbobbing prior to the snap? I don’t remember him doing that when making the fill-in starts for Wood. Who added that tic to his snap? Castillo? IIRC, it accounted for two false starts. Disappointing how he had held his own as a sub but now as a starter, he just looks lost and DL winging right around him.

TigerJ
I just looked through the list of free agents still available. The cupboard is almost bare when it comes to offensive centers, but one name did catch my attention. Cornelius Edison is essentially a third year player (his fourth year out of college but was injured for most of what would have been his rookie season). He's been on the PS for several teams and spent a little time on active rosters. The only thing that makes him a bit interesting is that he is currently on the Vikings roster. The only reason I bring him up is that it now appears as if center is the weak link in the Bills' offensive line.Ryan Groy is apparently not what we'd hoped he'd be, and Bodine doesn't really look like an answer. Signing Edison would essentially be grasping at a straw, but sometimes that can pay off. And, of course, he knows the Vikings.
