Joe B: 53 Man Roster Projection - Final

Recommended Posts

I think Foster and Proehl will be practice squad guys. I highly doubt they make the 53.

Holmes is listed as the #2 WR. I think people are kidding themselves if they think he won't make the 53.

I think the 6 who make it will be:

Kelvin Benjamin

Andre Holmes

Rod Streater

Jeremy Kerley

Corey Coleman

Zay Jones

Unfortunately adding Coleman I think bumps Reilly off the roster.

I agree Gunner. I didn’t want to quote your entire post. Holmes is a lock if he is healthy. I think the new kickoff rules will be a mess and a proven gunner has value.

Heck, I wish the Bills had a good KR. I think they would have value later in the season when kicking it through the end zone isn’t so simple.

I wonder how exactly Foster has disappointed. I thought I had read somewhere he was doing well. Hopefully he makes the PS

Foster started off pretty well from what I've read but lately he's been dropping the rock, even in routes vs. air. He has plenty of speed and I guess coaches are pleased with his route running skills but that doesn't mean much if you can't catch the ball.

why would we need four TEs?

Same reason we need 9 OL. They are going to carry 8 max there.

Reps say Kerley is the No 2. Sorry I dont see the Holmes love around here to include with the coaching staff

KB

Kerly

Zay

Coleman

Holmes

Ray Ray

that will be the 6 kept for sure, they invested a 5th in McCloud, he can return the ball, and he hasn’t disappointed in limited opportunities so he’s almost a lock imo.

And I keep Croom and Lee over Thomas, end that expirement.

Ray Ray has work to do before he makes the 53, but he has a good chance.  Rodak's 5 WRs are locks IMO. The question is do the BIlls keep 6.

I agree, other than Holmes. I would not call him a lock and wouldn't be surprised if we cut him.

Holmes is a core ST player who McDermott calls "one of our leaders".

That’s why Holmes is a lock. He needs to be thought of like Marcus Easley was. He isn’t a lock because of his receiving skills. He’s a lock because of his role on ST.

If 59 (Russel) keeps playing the way he did week 1, I think he makes it. I liked what I saw from him

DiMarco is a complete waste of a roster spot.  I think you guys are giving Jones and Holmes way too much credit.  Coleman's only a 7th rounder two years from now, so he's far from a lock.  I hope they give RayRay some time with the ones, but maybe he and Josh are just on the same wavelength.  Also hope Reilly gets time with the ones.  Not liking the Meat Tenderizer or Lolita lately, but not seeing anyone else stepping up on D-line or at LB.  CB and S depth is non-existent.  Let's hope somebody steps up on D.

AND WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WTF DUCASSE HAS ON THE COACHES OR THE GM?  WHY IS THIS GUY STILL HERE?

I am talking about Russell. Not Love. Year love was good too but I was more impressed with the pressure Russell got

When is the cut down day?

Didn't the NFL change it to just one mass cut down to 53 for this year?

I think it may have been last year as well. Anyway, it’s one cut down day. That way coaches have enough camp bodies to play that farce of a final preseason game.

No, last year was a cut to I believe 70 or 75 after the 3rd preseason game.

Not correct. There was only one cutdown.  90 to 53.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000816590/article/20172018-national-football-league-important-dates

September 2 -- Prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time, clubs must reduce rosters to a maximum of 53 players on the Active/Inactive List.

September 2 -- Simultaneously with the cut-down to 53, clubs that have players in the categories of Active/Physically Unable to Perform or Active/Non-Football Injury or Illness must select one of the following options: place player on Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform or Reserve/NonFootball Injury or Illness, whichever is applicable; request waivers; terminate contract; trade contract; or continue to count the player on the Active List.

Who is fielding kicks and punts on these 53 projections? Would think Ray Ray makes it for that reason alone.

They really should include gunners and returners in the position listing for the specialists in the 53 to make it clearer because that really is why some players are on the roster.

Buffalo Bills: Predicting the 53-man roster after two preseason games

The Buffalo Bills are creeping closer and closer to the regular season, so that means it’s time for the annual 53-man roster prediction.

After the Buffalo Bills second preseason game, we have started to see the strengths and weaknesses of players on the roster.

Even though there are two more preseason games left, I have created my roster prediction and am ready to share.
