DE Austin Johnson visiting the Bills today - UPDATE: DaQuan Jones says we got him

Recommended Posts

Push these out a week. Having guys visit in spring with 4 inches of snow on the ground isn't a great first impression. The weather here stinks right now. Yuk. Finny because we actually had a great winter.

It's not like they live here in March...I doubt they care

Dude played college at PSU.
he knows what snow looks like

Also, he’s a 3T DT, not an edge.

sign him and trade a late round pick for another DT that's capable

would love to sign Calais Campbell for a year if he wants to come here.  We had a visit scheduled with him before he signed in ATL last year.

Dude is 37 and still had 6.5 sacks last season playing all 17 games

Yea I'm mostly joking. Hopefully he signs. We need bodies.

I think he'd be a good fit. I'd love to head into the draft with another DT signed (mainly so Beane and McD are less tempted to get one early).

I was just thinking this.  I've seen a few mocks recently that have us taking a DT in the first round.

If we really did that, I probably would take a break from the board for a bit.

Calais Campbell too please!

"One of the oldest defensive linemen in the NFL is Calais Campbell however he doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon. This upcoming season will be his 17th in the NFL and played for the Atlanta Falcons this past year and had 6.5 sacks, 10 tackles for a loss, and 17 QB hits"

would bring great leadership as well, was a mentor to Rousseau

Desperate for Dline interior depth.  Solid piece and starter for the last few years.  Reminds me of the visits players took with Buffalo last year.  Not the best number but a chance to play and win.

This board if they take a DT in round 1:

I think we tried to bring him in last year and he passed, I agree he seems to continual producing but eventually mother nature catches up and rather not have him around when she does.

Right ! Why do they announce visits? Zero for FA on that stat!!!

The agents announce the visits to demonstrate interest. They are probably not happy with the offers that they are getting and are trying to get one team to cave.

PFF rank #118 of 130 interior defenders (DT's)....not good

#16 Arik Armstead

#44 Ed Oliver

#64 Sebastian Joseph Day

#81   Tim Settle

#118 Austin Johnson

#129 Jordan Phillips

Anyone who watched the games knows Oliver should be ranked much higher.

#16 and #64 visited and said no thanks.  Not much left to work with.

He wasn’t an IDL, he was a DE in a 3-4 system.

I don't think that Armstead visited.  I think that he's a free agent and his wife has ties to the Buffalo area, so someone wrote an article suggesting that he was interested in signing with the Bills.  I don't know that there was anything else to the story.

There was, but he went where the money was offered. Don’t blame him.
