So....

With all the trades and cuts we know of to date (the latest being NYG cutting Daniel Jones), how many QB's do you think get taken before our pick?

This would then roll into another question - which WR do you think will fall to us at 28?

Please specify your WR choice - especially if you select 'other'

I’m out on Legette in RD 1.  Can’t take the chance with a guy that has had 1 year of production as he learned the position.

Frankin wil be there.  I think Mitchell might be the 6th WR in the top 27.

I think it goes:

1. Harrison

2. Naybers

3. Odunze

4. Thomas

5. I think someone bites on Coleman Worthy Polk or Legette

6. Mitchell

They’ll go before we pick.

I like in order Mitchell, Franklin, Worthy.

He has one year of more than 30 targets. Is his lack of production due to lack of opportunity or lack of skill. I'd say the first as shown throughout the post season process he's a highly skilled player. Franklin in the other hand has seen his stock drop. Mitchell likely goes in mid to late teens or at the latest in early 20s in my mind. I'm a Legette fan, he might not be an immediate difference maker but nor was Eric Moulds.

Leggette is really intriguing. Just not sure he has the production to warrant the bills taking him at 28.

I don’t get the Leggette interest.  He’s a Gabe Davis clone in terms of weaknesses just faster.   He lacks explosion off the line and is a strider, struggles at separation in the short areas of the field and has poor acceleration and burst.

Sure, if he’s there in the 2nd or 3rd, but not at 28.

I also don’t get the interest in Worthy who is a stick figure and all his speed will be neutralized in the bad weather where he offers little at that point as he doesn’t have size or strength to be physical.  Plus his frame is gonna be questionable to be able to hold up to an NFL schedule punishment.

I think our targets are more likely to be Thomas, Mitchell, McConkey, Coleman at 28…or any of them and maybe Franklin or Pearsall if they trade back.

4 is the obvious answer for QB. It is definitely at least 4. Supposedly McCarthy has a LOT of fans. 11 is probably his floor (which is wild to me).

The WR question is trickier. It could be multiple guys on there. I think Thomas is gone and Coleman has too many questions. I went Ladd McConkey. The Texas guys also warrant consideration (and have some questions).

I haven’t invested into all 12 guys but the phrase Gabe Davis but faster isn’t inconsequential

gabe as a deep threat was just too slow at a 4.55 forty. Being sub 4.4 would be a noteworthy change in his game.

Haven't seen anything about Jones being reported by reputable outlets. Plus his dead cap figure would be almost $70M. Doubt that's the case.

Lack of opportunity. He had to wait his turn at South Carolina.

You're out on Legette but still in on Franklin at 27? Yikes.

There is ZERO chance we aren’t trading up to get our guy so who cares who is there at 28. IMO we will end up in the high teens and possibly as early as 14.

With what?   How high do people think we can get without a 3rd Rounder and a boatload of Day 3 picks.

But there are guys just as fast or faster (all faster than Davis) who are more complete WRs that will be available when we pick.

All I’m saying is I’m not taking Leggette before them.  If we got Leggette in 2nd or 3rd, sure I’m ok with it.

I don’t have him in my top 10 WRs, and there won’t be 10 gone before we pick at 28.  I would absolutely take Thomas, Mitchell, McConkey, Coleman, and Franklin before him.  Probably Pearsall too who I think may be the most underrated of all the guys.

My top 10 board is:

Elite WR1 Prospects
1 Harrison - Clear top WR

2 and 3 - Nabers and Odunze (Whoch ever order someone puts them in)

4 Thomas - Clear #4 for me, and not far behind Nabers/Odunze.  He’s a true WR1 prospect.

Potential 1st Rounders to early 2nd rounders but still with WR1 traits and potential

5 McConkey

6 Mitchell

7 Coleman

2nd rounders to early 3rd rounders as strong WR2 prospects still with WR1 some potential, but have some more question marks than the tier above them.

8 Franklin

9 Worthy

10 Pearsall

11 Leggette

NOTE:  I’m pretty sure someone is going to over draft Worthy in the first round, maybe even as the 3rd, 4th, or 5th WR off the board.  A team like Dallas makes sense where he gets turf and isn’t the WR1.  I’m really hoping he pushes Thomas down the board.

Agreed on Legette and Worthy, but you can throw Coleman in there as well.  Despite his excellent hands, he didn't get a lot of separation at the college level.

Yes.

That’s Jaylen Waddle - but 3 inches taller and better.

is McCarthy this years Will Levis? Being hyped up into a first round pick only to end up going  day 2.

Did Daniel Jones get cut? I couldn’t find that anywhere.

Fair question, but I don’t see him falling. The 1st 3 are gone by 3. That leaves teams like Denver still w/o a qb. There are apparently teams that have him above some of the consensus top 3.

It won’t be Penix it will be JJ McCarthy who’s likely going top 10 now

I would bet good money that all 6 (Williams, Maye, Nix, Penix, Daniels, JJ) will be gone by pick 16 (Seattle's pick)

No matter how good we all think these guys are, All 6 have nfl starting QB potential and there are 7 teams in the top 16 (Chi, Was, NE, Min, Den, LV, Sea) that definitely need a starting QB and 2 wild card teams that could take one of these guys in the top 7 picks (NYG, TEN)

Crazy bet. Have 6 QB’s ever gone in the first?

1983

1. John Elway
7. Todd Blackledge
14. Jim Kelly
15. Tony Eason
24. Ken O'Brien
27. Dan Marino

I forgot about Todd!

Even still, I don’t know if this class has that oomph. We’ll see. I think 4 is likely, and 5 is possible, but 6 seems like a lot. Someone of Nix/Penix/JJ will fall.

This class doesn’t have the John Elway, Dan Marino or even a Joe Burrow type but all 6 guys can be starters in this league. It’s a pretty unique class of QBs. Just going with my gut. We’ll see if I’m right
