I believe Joe Cribbs at #20 achieved far more than Henry Jones.

Henry Jones was a terrific safety and mainstay of the 90s Bills defenses, and Cribbs was awesome — maybe THE original dual-threat RB — but I gotta go with (my man) Robert James at #20. 2X all-pro and absolute sticky shutdown corner, James was at his peak (maybe on way to HOF) when he wrecked his knee in ‘74.

He really didn’t. In fact, not even close.

You want to debate who is the best 20 in Bills history, Robert James should be in the mix. He was an absolute stud at CB in the early to mid 70’s. And to think he was a DE in college.

40 should be Robb Riddick.

48 should be Rosie Leaks.

Cribbs was great in 80 and 81. But his career was too short with the Bills. Then Ralph didn't want to pay him and off to the USFL he went if I remember correctly.

This list is about on field performance, not jersey sales. I dont know much about Gogolak as he was well before muly time but pretty sure he changed the game with his style of kicking and did it in Buffalo first. Also I see he went to pro bowl here for the 65 season.

I'm not sure how much I trust their rankings but maybe so.

In any case, Booker was a good Bill.  Here's a write-up from Buffalo Fanatics:

"The Buffalo Bills signed the undrafted Edgerson as a free agent in 1962 and never looked back. He went on to feature on the AFL’s 1962 All-Rookie Team with a career-high 6 INTs, picking off HoF QB George Blanda twice in his first-ever game as a pro. His man coverage was some of the best in the AFL and his ability to lock down some of the best talents in a league flush with talented, future HoF WRs was vital to our dominant defense. It was he who made our secondary as difficult to throw at as it was. He locked up the opposition consistently in the AFL Championships in 1964 and 1965, doing his part to take both trophies home. He was declared an AFL All-Star in 1965 and Second-Team All-AFL in 1969."

I think I missed his best years as a Bill, or maybe little-kid bias. I started watching the Bills seriously in OJ’s rookie year, and Butch Byrd was light years better.

If not including Von, then Terry Miller was a better 40 than Riddick.

It's a surprisingly solid list.  I was wondering what number I should take when the Bills sign me as the NFL's oldest FA (a mere 64).   Seems my chances of being the best at any jersey number are pretty slim but Carwell Gardner might be the weak link.

#6: P Colton Schmidt and #18: QB Kyle Orton are easily passible by you.

That the list choose to use #8: P Brian Moorman with ball in hand to throw shows how different Moorman was than most punters.  A coffin kicker who could throw and run hurdling.

Go Bills!

Number #6 I will go with Tom Dempsey personal choice because I am disabled in a wheelchair from birth with MD muscular dystrophy. Tom

Dempsey was born without part of his foot and missing fingers on his one hand. He was I believe the first disabled Buffalo Bills player from birth. I get Buffalo Bills players get disabled from playing football. But Tom Dempsey had to overcome a lot to make the NFL especially considering the time period ADA Americans Disability Act didn’t come until 1990’s. Add in Tom Dempsey got complaints from NFL opposing teams about his special shoe because he made a 67 yard field goal that was a record for a while. Ironically they determined it was actually harder kicking with the special shoe not having part of his foot. He just passed away recently and no he wasn’t the greatest Buffalo Bills player ever and he wasn’t here long but I will go with him. Number #20 Joe Cribbs was a much better Buffalo Bills player than Henry Jones in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

He didn't sell jerseys because he was good. He sold jerseys because of his story.

He's an average to below average safety.

Enjoy your Pete Gogolak jersey. Oh wait, nobody in the world will ever buy one but meanwhile Hamlin has the #2 best selling jersey on the team and there's literally thousands of them? 🤔

I'm pretty sure the title said "which Bills jersey to buy for every number" but was then later edited. If not then maybe I'm crazy because that's how I read it for some reason when I originally posted

Ahhhh ok ok, so amount of Jerseys sold = good football player :)

Hamlins jersey sold because he died on national television and was resuscitated.... otherwise very few people would know who he is. He's not a great football player, regardless of his story.
