Wow.  Far more than the Broncos sold for, what, a year ago?  Despite their many problems under Dan Snyder, Washington remains a cornerstone NFL franchise.

They’re gonna spend more than $6b at the end of the day too. They need a new stadium and likely are going to re-brand given fan reaction to the Commanders.

Ok, so which team has the worst owner in the NFL now?

Arizona? LA Chargers? Browns? Bengals?

I’ve got to go with the Browns on that one. What a mess. The D Watson contract was the clincher.

They’ve gotta pass the owner vote and he’s got the max amount of partners allowed which is 25. They do have some concerns with that and for the sake of the commanders fans hope they can get passed that

It seems strange that they set a limit that is acceptable and then are concerned someone plays within their rules they lay out, regardless of what end of the spectrum they lie on.

If 25 is too many for them, then they need to update their rules.

Don't leave the Texans out of that conversation...

They are historically bad owners, they probably round out my top-5 lol

Certainly the most despised by other fan bases I think. It’s crazy how beloved they were back in 2020 and then to go full 180* and just turn up the hate to full power lol

He’s definitely not great but all of a sudden he has a good team on paper… not great but probably not the worst in my eyes.

cant forget about kraft and ross

Kraft is mostly hated for owning a cheating franchise and getting squeezers at the salon, but he’s not a “terrible” owner to his fan base. Ross was willing to break rules to try and bring Brady in, all the crap with his former coach, etc. might put him in the running. That said, the sad sack of fans they have probably love him for getting reek and making them relevant for the moment.

It is a shame he will do so well out of his mismanagement of the proud Washington franchise, but NFL teams are scarce commodities, much more scarce than billionaires.  In any event, his incompetence and arrogance and outright criminality probably shaved billions off what this franchise could have been worth if cared for properly.

Well, maybe that franchise won’t be a thorn in the NFL’s side any further,

Snyder gets Six Billion to get fired from the NFL…, poor guy, 😂

Proud Washington franchise? It was last franchise who was willing to sign black players.

that remains to be seen.  They have lost at least 50% of their fan base due to snyder.  With a stadium that is a complete dump  and probably a long shot at the playoffs it seems like that is going to take a while before they are anywhere near what that franchise was.

Now if they build a new stadium and their new qb works out and they win the division in the next couple of years I bet a lot of those old fans would come back.

Close, but this Josh Harris is the owner of the NBA's 76ers and the NHL's Devils

Thought you couldn't own teams in another city in other sports.  Pegula had sabres but they both are Buffalo teams.

Then why were the “Commanders”  just sold for $1.4 billion more than the Broncos, one of the most iconic and valuable franchises in the league?

Inflation? Because 4.6 Billion dollars then is worth more than 6 Billion dollars today?

1. There are  only 32 teams in the NFL;

2. They rarely go up for sale;

3. They always increase in value;

4. There's always a multi-billionaire who's willing to overspend for a toy.

Maybe, but it’s the entire Rocky Mountain region, including at least six states…
