Johnny Hammersticks
Ji’Aiyr Brown is such an intriguing prospect, but I’m not sure his style fits this defense. Not known to have great instincts in coverage. More of an in the box thumper.

BBFL
Interesting that they didn’t have any draft interviews with more Linebackers. With Edmunds seemingly out the door, one would think they would have talked to more than one prospect during the event. Especially with several “McDermott Character” players who attended both the Combine and Senior Bowl; Cam Jones - Indiana DeMarvion Overshown - Texas (Even more curious he wasn’t at the Dinner with Bijan and Roschan) Ivan Pace - Cincinnati Daiyan Henley - Washington St. SirVocea Dennis - Pitt’ Aubrey Miller Jr. - Jackson St. Dorian Williams - Tulane DJ Johnson - Oregon Jack Campbell - Iowa (did not participate in the Senior Bowl) Dee Winters - TCU Even more confusing is that on top of these Seniors, there was some others I thought would garner some conversation with the Bills at the draft in; Owen Pappoe - Auburn Henry To’oTo’o - Bama Noah Sewell - Oregon Drew Sanders - Arkansas Maybe the likelihood of Edmunds returning is a strong possibility in the FO’s mind? Personally, Dorian Williams looks like an ideal replacement for a team that is heavily fielding a nickel personnel. Very good in coverage and a decent feel for the development of plays. Aside from him could Boise State’s JL Skinner add on 15-20lbs and be converted into a LB that would be eerily similar to Edmunds? EDIT P.S. Not the biggest fan of Tremaine but that’s only due to draft placement and potential contract without the lack of absolute game changing plays by him over the course of his tenure in Buffalo. However… could do a lot worse. Edited March 10, 2023 by BBFL

GreggTX
I guess this means we'll sign a couple big name OL before the draft maybe??? We need a RG and RT at least. I don't want to even think about Bates and Brown starting again. What will it take for OBD to learn that you can't just throw a bunch of backup caliber OL out there and expect to win a SB? Beane recently talked up Brown pretty strongly. Seemed like Brown was still in good standing. I know it's GM lying season but gave the impression that he really liked Brown. I agree with you though. They should bring in legitimate competition for RT.

I am a little incredulous that Sherfield or Harry will be long term answers in our WR room. This is a great year to get a slot superstar between JSN, Flowers, Downs, Dell and Jarrett. Certainly missed that in our offense last year.

Certainly missed that in our offense last year. I’m not saying that any of Harty, Sherfield and Shakir are so established that they couldn’t find someone in the draft who is better - and I really like JSN, Flowers and Downs - but with plenty odd needs on OL, LB, S, and maybe DT and DE, it seems like a better plan to address those needs, including a WR who can play out wide (with at least average size to do so). I would not be upset if they added any of JSN, Flowers and Downs.

MrEpsYtown
Sometimes they hide visits. Like last year the Elam visit came out really late in the process. Sometimes the key is looking at the positions they are bringing in. Like last year they met with a ton of linebackers and drafted two, but neither were reported visits. Guys, they drafted who they reportedly met with last year: Kaiir Elam James Cook Matt Araiza UDFA Jalen Wydermyer (signed) In 2021: Jack Anderson In 2020: Zach Moss So sometimes you have to look at what isn't being reported to get clues.
