I didn't say dome, i said retractable roof. There's one in Toronto does just fine. Also you realize the Sabres have a roof down the street, right? Lol

Terry is something like the 5th richest owner in the league, he can afford it. So can the tax payers with this massive handout he's getting.

The dome in Toronto can not be opened from the end of October until late May due to the possibility of snow and ice build up on the track.

Is that the same sort of dome?

The Carrier Dome (or whatever they call it now) is one of those weird things where the roof is a flexible fabric of sorts and it's help up with internal air pressure; if you open all the doors the roof will deflate.

Maybe that has something to do with it?  Is that how Detroit is?

Detroit is solid roof. No one builds fabric pressure inflated/supported dome roofs anymore and all the old ones either closed/demolished or converted to fixed roof. EX: Small UNI Dome in Cedar Falls IA on UNI campus converted to fixed roof. They had two complete collapses of the air supported version and more deflations. All during weather events.

Carrier Dome also converted to fixed roof (PTFE hybrid w cables) in last renovation and comically added what was sorely lacking: AC!!!!! Unbelievable that they built the place without HVAC when the naming rights were by a nationally known HVAC company "Carrier." 🤷‍♂️😂Then Syracuse U does renovations and adds HVAC, then illegally litigate and bully a way out of the Carrier naming rights like a bunch of punks who should be beat up on the playground by the kids who they stole their lunch money from.

Don't let the press release fool you, SU stole the naming rights back from Carrier. Original deal was in perpetuity.

Any idea how they would handle ticket sales if the game is moved to Detroit?

Bills season ticket preference, options for Lions seasons ticket holders, pricing, etc?

not sure… I grabbed my single off SeatGeek so hopefully they’d at least give me a credit.

If I remember correctly from 2014, I got a full price refund on my seasons. Then I think they opened a “window” for season ticket holders first for the game in Detroit. Few hours later (or maybe a day?) to the general public. Tickets were free. Can’t remember if we had an assigned seat or if it was in the door and pick a seat Southwest Airlines style. I kinda remember it being pick your seat.

Why isn't the Carrier Dome being discussed as an option? Syracuse is away this weekend and would still give the Bills a home field advantage.

Not compatible with NFL Technology apparently

Highly unlikely with some players likely not having proper documents for border crossing.

Agreed.  It's likely Detroit.  Other possibilities would be Cincinnati or Tennessee

For some reason rules don’t apply for athletes. NBA and MLB can enter without the papers. It’s all ready to go.

Yeah, that's BS but nice try with the fake news.

IIRC all purchased tickets were refunded and attendance in Detroit was free to the public on a first come, first serve basis for the Jets game in 2014.

That would be the only appropriate and respectable way to handle the matter again this time around if the game is moved at the last minute, but with today's NFL where they try to squeeze a dime out of literally every last aspect of the sport that they can who knows.

It appears The Skydome is the location. Keep hearing announcement coming today. Let’s go!

If that is the case it would be preferable from a "home field advantage" perspective. Toronto and Southern Ontario have far more Bills fans than Detroit. A game vs. the Browns in Detroit might have a majority Browns fans given the proximity to Cleveland while Toronto would be far friendlier confines for us.

The Argos are also playing in the Grey Cup that evening at 6pm. Maybe they could sell it as a sort of football doubleheader - Live NFL action at 1pm and then invite all attendees to stick around and watch their hometown team on the big screen. Let the Molson flow all day. That would be pretty cool.

I don’t think it will happen but it appears it is one of the options. Would be cool

to see if it does happen.

Also an option the game could be played with nobody in attendance and only the key people(like 400 or so) needed to carry on an NFL broadcast, film it and the players/refs/coaches to play in it. NFL cares more about the game being played than the fans.

All signs point to them moving forward with the game here. I haven't heard otherwise and I think they would have had to have that plan in action by now as there are a lot of travel arrangements for 2 entire organizations and equipment crews and also TV people and fans. If fans can't get the game they probably don't care as long as the teams and support staff is in place

Skydome would suck for those of us who want to drive to the game from like PGH.  Sounds like it would be impossible (my kid's passport expired) plus potential road closures.  Would prefer Det or Cincy .

I think the Bills would have sent some type of communication out to season ticket holders at this point.

Ill see y'all at the game in Orchard Park.
