I don't have a problem with him wanting another deal etc. I do have a problem with the way things are being put out there by his wife. It simply isn't the way you should be doing business. Something they might need to consider, is that if not for the Bills giving him his shot in the first place, he might still be scuttling around the league, chasing vet minimums. Also, when complaining about the likes of Diggs and Miller getting paid, it perhaps needs to be mentioned that Miller will be a 1st ballot HOF guy, whenever he becomes eligible, and Diggs will also get some serious consideration, if he continues as he is. Poyer won't even get close to the HOF, unless he turns in the sort of performance that wins a Superbowl, and gets him more noticed. While currently, Poyer and Hyde get a lot of love as the possibly best safety tandem in the NFL, the point is that it's as a tandem, rather than being specifically mentioned individually. IN the grand pecking order of who gets paid in an NFL team, generally speaking, a Safety is pretty low down on the list. Last year, Poyer was something like 13th on the list of highest paid safeties, with Hyde just behind him - and that is towards the end of his deal. Seems to me that that shows that he got decent terms the last time around. Noticeably, Mathieu was getting about $14million per, but he's been cut, and is yet to sign elsewhere iirc. If Poyer becomes a headache, then the Bills could just cut him (I'm not too bothered about the cap considerations atm), and where is he going to go to get the sort of money he's on now? The type of receiver that Diggs is allows him to play a little longer and still be very effective. Safeties games seem to get older quicker...Poyer is no speed demon to start with. Rachel Bush has >3M Instagram followers and who knows how many OnlyFans subscribers, and I'm sure a number of them don't keep both hands in sight while they're viewing her accounts. Some guys who have "been there" like being with that, others would tell you living with that has its down side. As far as support - none of us know whether/how she supports him in private. She's tweeted about hating that she has to live in/be associated with NY State. For all we know, Poyer may know he's got a good thing going on in B'lo playing in McDermott's system and partnering with Hyde, and be willing to trust his agent to negotiate a fair deal in turn, but wifey is pushing him to insist Beane negotiate NOW or trade him to somewhere she likes better - which may or may not be to his benefit. Or maybe she does truly support whatever he wants, career-wise. Don't know. I'll let Diggs point out the downside of the player being too involved or too public about contract negotiations: https://youtu.be/sy-mJC-f8ek?t=404 In case that doesn't link to the right timestamp, about 6:44 in. Diggs says he didn't have any conversations with Beane, he trusts his agent to go to bat for him, he "lets those things figure themselves out rather than be too involved, because it can put a tarnish on a relationship, this is a business" Do you honestly think Beane negotiates player contracts, or prioritizes which contracts to negotiate next, based on what's trending on Twitter and Insta or what the player or his spouse put out there? I think it would be safe to "bet the rent money" that he doesn't. But I do think the team has people who monitor social media, and certainly fans do. The potential to tarnish the relationship with the team or with the fans vs. a player who just keeps it business, hires an agent he trusts, and then steps back, seems pretty clear. 5

Tell me How hard do you think it is for a player to be 15 yards off the Ball. With their eyes looking right at the QB. safety is easier to play than RB OG WLB and those are all very easy positions. Safety is the easiest position to play on a football field. Now add it into a Cover 3 DB friendly defenses. And You have two players that have been moved on from their other teams making all pros. Hyde is the glue back there I can get same production from any NFL safety next to Hyde. Doesn’t have to have the name Poyer or be paid 12M a year. I think reducing the Bills perennial secondary success to scheme is an oversimplification. You still need good football players to have a good team. If anything happens to health, production and the player is anything other than traded, the whole unrecognized contract value hits the year the player leaves (other than getting traded). So we'll see how it goes. the Bills' highest paid players have been healthy and productive, as long as that continues (and the cap continues to increase) kicking the cap can down the road works. high stakes game. go bills

The point being that by opening her mouth and creating a distraction she is in fact doing the opposite of helping her husband, but lacks the self awareness to realize it. Unless her goal is to talk her husband off the team, in which case I'd say the fans are right to be annoyed with her. Her looks have literally nothing to do with anything. I'm starting to view her as I view Eugene Parker, who cost us a pretty decent safety that no one wanted to lose at the time either. This FO has shown that they don't like things negotiated in public, they prefer things to be kept in-house. If Poyer wants a new deal, he has Rosenhaus approach the FO. If they FO says no to a raise, he has three choices: play out his remaining year, engage in childish antics claiming he won't play absent a new deal, or he can ask for a trade, in which case complaining publicly lowers the likelihood of him moving because it lowers his trade value. Beane isn't about option 2 and the majority of fans in Buffalo will immediately turn on the player for messing with our Super Bowl window. Team Poyer's best move is to shut up, negotiate quietly and if things fall apart, quietly ask for a trade. That is, if he actually cares about the team that gave him a chance to develop into a very good player and the fans who have only supported him, as he purports to. Look at Diggs, we never even knew something was being negotiated and he never complained about anything, then he got paid. SCBills
I love Poyer as a person and player, but the fact of the matter is we can't keep paying everyone who wants more money. Especially in the secondary, where we have a very friendly system and a coach who knows how to get the most out of players. Poyer has worked hard and become a very good player, but is he the same player elsewhere? Are we any worse off with a different Safety? I honestly don't know. There's 5 big decisions to make after this upcoming season: Knox, Edmunds, Poyer, Saffold & Singletary. Of those guys, the only must sign for me is Knox and I wouldn't mind Edmunds & Saffold if the money is right and their play warrants them being back. If I'm the Bills.. Poyer, Singletary and Edmunds (dependent upon their long term view of him) are all available right now. None of those guys here or gone changes the fact that this is a Super Bowl roster. LB, RB, S are as replaceable as it gets in the NFL.
